I was standing in EC minding my own business and someone open the trade window with about 72mil by accident. he left the trade window open long enough for me to count all the digit. I thought I was doing pretty good having about 200k but 72 mil is way out of my league!

It's just numbers on a screen. What are you going to do with 72,000,000pp on an end of timeline server?

Looks like Diddlydee was trying to move.

Are you sure it was 72m? Even 7.2 is pretty crazy. It's in your log file.

Soandso adds some coins to the trade.
The total trade is:

But for me having enough to reasonably twink my next alt is rich. Being able to afford actually game-changing items like a Fungi, good ratio weapons, jboots, class clickies, WR bags, etc. I think beyond that it's really diminishing returns, except for maybe like buying LR for your epic or a ToV weapon.

With 72 million you could make a new account and fill all the character slots with Epic Mages.

There are levels to this game.

But if you're the one selling those earth staves in the first place you can do it for free.

At some point it’s just obsessive and evidence if mental unhealth. That or often more likely, RMT.

But as for OPs question, it’s subjective. Personally I think a player is rich when they can afford all the trade’able and popular MQ items they need for their main and an alt whilst sharing one manastone, circlet of shadow and holgresh elder beads or being able to buy them if so desired. So somewhere net worth in the range of about 2-5m pp.

Any one character outside or legacy items and Epic MQ rarely needs more than 1m plat however.

My wife and I just returned to this game. She wants to play a Barb SHM, I'm a Iksar NEC. I asked a <Dial-A-Port> what would be a port cost to bring her toon to Field of Bone.

75 Plat.

So, if ports cost 75 plat a pop, we are definitely NOT rich. Don't feel bad. Obviously, we declined.

Lol true enough. I'd imagine the only legitimate reason to amass 72 million plat is to buy something like a pre-nerf fungi staff or a scepter of destruction.

If one of the few players who obtained a pre-nerf fungi staff did sell, they would be 70 million plat richer, without selling any Earth Staffs. Then they could fulfill their dream of an account full of Epic Mages in each character slot.

Enuf to buy spells, food/drink, a combine weapon, some handmade BPs and some steel boning to make fancy leather armor for your Druid.
The rest is fluff.

I'd do it for free but my druid is too low to succor and that's the best way to get her to the FoB ZL safely. And don't forget to ask for a bind, apparently the spot is outside Kaesora which is relatively close to the ZL: https://wiki.project1999.com/Bind_Locations

I would ask in the p99 discord, say you're new and someone will help you out I'm sure.

I wasn't aware there was a P99 Discord. I don't see one listed.

It's when you consider a 50k loss on a trade the cost of business

If we're talking raw platinum on hand I would say $400k+ would be the equivilant of being a billionaire. If we're talking total value of items I would say $3mm+

At some point it’s just obsessive and evidence if mental unhealth. That or often more likely, RMT.

Maybe, just maybe people have different reasons that they want to play the game or different things they find fun. You can point to pretty much any activity in the world, find the person that is #1 in the world at it, and that person will have immense wealth or earning potential. You'll find more often than not is that they became the best in the world because they aren't doing it for the money.

Truth right here.

Elon Musk, for better or worse, does not need and can not possibly use more money. Trying to evaluate him from a standpoint of material gain is beyond naive.
