Hello everyone,

My wife and I recently returned. I'm playing a gnome Enc and she a Clr. We're wondering where people go to level. Gfay was empty. Crushbone had no one. We traveled to EC, but it appeared Orc 1 &2 were being used to PL.

Where do low level players who like to group go to level on green?

Thank you.

You can always /who all +/- 2 levels from your own and see where people are at, or reach out to individuals and see if they want to form up. For instance if you're level 10, "/who all 8-12" (or might be "8 12" without the dash, its been a long time I forget the syntax).

You don't really need anyone else in that duo, tho. Stock up on tiny daggers and use an animation for now, start charming ASAP. Just stick to super light blues / barely greens at first and the charm breaks won't be so harsh / frequent.

If I were in your shoes I would head to Warrens. Fantastic learner dungeon with high ZEM that level scales as you work your way in (the kobold pit fighters are especially awesome). Added bonus for rep gains which will make The Hole key super simple to get for both characters later on, which at 50+ becomes an absolute playground for enc+cleric duo.

The 1-15 population is pretty spread out on Green these days, but if you are dead set on going to zones that already have PUGs available - Unrest starts at around 12-15.

Here are some places I've seen pretty consistent pick-up groups happening on Green the last few months:

12 - 30: Unrest
20 - 40: Mistmoore
20 - 30: South Karana aviaks
25 - 35: Highkeep Goblins
40 - 50: City of Mist
50 - 60: Velketor's Labyrinth
50 - 60: Karnor's Castle

I've also seen the rare group in places like Befallen (5-20), Najena (15-30), Solusek's Eye (25-35), Nagafen's Lair (35-60), Splitpaw (30-45), Crystal Caverns (30-45). This batch of zones is typically pretty empty, and it seems to be a BYOG situation, rather than PUG.

But as kjs said, that duo can fit into a group nicely, or you can pick up a monk, warrior, ranger, pally or SK and hit one of the many other zones.

Paw / CT so woefully underused. The ZEM is nutty.

FWIW: I solo'd my paladin - Warrens --> Permafrost --> CT --> (grouped a bit in CoM) --> SolB --> Hole

For finding places to group with others, try https://wiki.project1999.com/Group_Hunting_Spots. For places where you and your wife can duo, try https://wiki.project1999.com/Per-Level_Hunting_Guide.

The latter page has a lot more options.

Thank you for the replies everyone. I'll clarify below:

We did this, sort of, but it wasn't that helpful or there weren't many online at the time we did it.

You don't really need anyone else in that duo, tho. Stock up on tiny daggers and use an animation for now, start charming ASAP. Just stick to super light blues / barely greens at first and the charm breaks won't be so harsh / frequent.

My wife and I only duo as a last resort. This is the #1 killer of immersion and nostalgia for us. We love grouping and meeting people. Chatting it up at an exp grind. That is our fun.

We'll definitely check these places out as we go. Thank you

Definitely some of my best P99 memories are the chat during the level grind in groups. I hope that's still occurring on green.

Yeah as pointed out around lvl 15 or so unrest and oasis tend to have some folks grouping and then from there someone already spelled out the common paths most the majority follow.

There are also leveling guilds on each server that generally cater to creating a community specific for people looking to group and level I think friendly druids is still that main one on Green but someone else may be more in the know on that piece.

Its been real rough for me. Im slogging through these low levels but its pretty quiet on this server. I was playing on quarm for a bit but came here because im truly a new EQ player and wanted to experience my first run like this. Soloing these first 15 levels seems to be the biggest recommendation.

Soloing helps to teach you your class strengths and weaknesses. 15 is a good level to start grouping, I'd agree. The beginning is a slog for every class. Luckily, casters start to get pretty strong in the 20s and 30s.

There are almost never anyone in these zones however, the entrance of Najena starts at lvl 8 ish there are 12 skeletons if you count the ones at entrance, and the first two rooms. They are between 8 and 11 lvl. Najena is good from 8 to 30 lvl high zem as well.

Befallen High Zem entrance starts around 6 , good from 6 to 25 or so if you go to 3rd floor.

The Gorge High Zem zone mobs are between 10 and 25 ish level, is outdoor zone,

Runnyeye entrance on River vale side High Zem, mobs atart at lvl 8 , go to lvl 28 or so.

Cazic Thule High Zem entrance starts around 15 can be dangerous mob can run thru walls and train you. CT is good from 15 at entrence to 45 or so at Avatar of Fear Courtyard mobs there are 34 to start, its the temple with big Blue Flame torches . Gator Ally is great from 30 to 38 down near Steel Golem on map.

Kurns Tower but a bit of a run for you, but High Zem, ent starts around 10 th lvl good to 27 ish this one normally has players in it.

Split Paw High Zem the entrence up to the First set of Double Doors are great from 30 to 36 ish the room to the right and south just past entrence is a safe spot called the Bedroom.
the gnolls drop fine steel as well as Tanned scrolls , look like an actual rolled up scroll there are 1-4 each are lore, you can turn them in 1 at a time to Evard Tormmels in the house behind the bank in Qyenos for really good exp, Split paw is good from 30 to 45 lvl

Then Unrest courtyard starts around 11 with beetles and goes to 37 or 40 if you do Hags normally 2 or 3 groups there

The Hermit in South Karna lvl 21 ranger no faction spawns every 2 min, drops fine steel weapons, to get him out of the house, have a pet pull him out, or go inside target him at door between door and frame, walk behind house get up between the edge of fireplace, and the back of house, and in /say say I am here to Kill you. that will cause him to aggro and run out of the house.
Careful as a Gnoll paths near the house, small aggro radius, and a Halfling warr Synfire will run by now and then and assist if she sees you killing him, as well as at night a Werewolf sometimes paths near by, Hermit is good from 21 to 28 lvl.

Sol Eye never anyone here but High Zem , ent is good from 25 , zone is good to 34 if i remember with priest king maybe higher.
