What is going on here? I’m 252 cha, getting spam resisted in lulls of blues/ getting crit resist more common due to chain resists. Did they change something? I remember this being super reliable last time I played… rare to resist and a blue moon critical

What specific mobs are you trying to lull? Some mobs do have higher magic resistance than others.

Golems in Seb are one example of a higher MR mob if I remember right.

Also obviously if the blue is like a level 50 mob, that is going to resist more than like a level 40 mob. Level difference plays a factor. You are level 52 or 53 right?

Also, belly casters (fire giants, ice giants inside permafrost, some dragons, etc.) need you to be in melee range or else all spells will be resisted.

Yeah, this.

I rarely get resists / crit resists on mobs more than 10 levels lower than me. But I do get a good amount on mobs closer to my level. Rock golems in the Hole are the bane of my solo existence lol

Not yet, but when they do, Lull will become a nearly useless spell - https://www.project1999.com/forums/showthread.php?t=434049

It's too bad that such a pivotal thing about the game has remained unfixed for so long.

I read that charm was OP/not classic on this server and is subject to change in the future but I didn't know the same was true for lull. I feel that lull for CC and charm for dps is the meta right now. What will those changes mean? Will we go back (like in classic) to needing balanced groups with a tank and healer, and using root/mez for CC?

I wouldn’t sweat the what-ifs. AoW gets killed every week on repop. We can figure out a nerf to lull or charm. Worst case all you need is another friend.

It will become much harder to solo as an Enchanter, but they'll still be the most powerful class in the game. It will be harder for people to move through dangerous areas, because Lull is going to become terrible.

Bards will become more desirable because their Lull song doesn't get nerfed and will be the only indoor Lull ability worth using. Classes with Feign Death will also gain more importance as pullers, especially Monks, since they get an instant version.

Casters in general will be nerfed because channeling is too strong right now and non-damage spells should generally be getting resisted more than they currently do (which also includes a 3% chance of non-damage spells getting resisted no matter what -- among other things, this will make quad kiting as a Wizard more annoying, since 11% of every quad kite you attempt will require extra kiting and an additional snare cast for the 1 target out of 4 that resisted it).

Bards will be a lot more interesting too once they raise their charm cap to 55
