Having same issue on blue. "An unknown error occurred while trying to join the server." Hope this gets resolved soon so I can enjoy the holiday event! I have MISSED the holiday events OG EQ used to have back in these early days of the game!

Here is what worked for me on windows.

1 open a command prompt (type CMD in your start menu)

2 enter "ipconfig/release"

3 enter "ipconfig/flushdns"

4 enter "ipconfig/renew"

5 Now it's your world, do you!

commands should not include the quotation marks

For clarity the log in servers are a separate entity and completely unrelated to P99. This is why there are a variety of known work arounds that are available should you choose to seek them out in the forums. If this is a huge deal to you it would make sense for you to take the time to familiarize yourself with how to log in when the traditional log in servers are having an issue.

They are no longer a separate entity, Rogean took them over within the last year I think.

ARIN info for the IP range the login server uses is registered to Rogean Systems LLC now.

He took physical possession of the servers and moved their location, they are still separate servers from what P99 runs on hence why the game works just fine when the login servers are down.
