A quote from the 2000 Kunark Game Manual:


Dexterity. Coordination; affects how much damage you deliver with a bow/thrown weapon, time between attacks, how fast you learn certain skills, and how often certain spells and weapons hit their mark. Also affects some skills and Bard songs.


Is DEX really underrated? If it gives +Accuracy, and +Haste, shouldn't melee focus more on DEX gear?

Dex never did that, as far as I know. It does/should affect your accuracy though.

Perhaps they were referring to Dual Wield/Double Attack procs.

Dex affected your proc ratio, im do not know the ratio but i do remember it affecting procs, not haste, nothing affected that but buffs/items as far as classic went.

At 255 dex procs were approximately 2 / min IIRC.

That maybe so, but the answer is still right. It does not affect haste... And i do remember proccing much much more within a min on live when i played my bard. I might be wrong, but who knows.

What's really funny is that I remember having this exact same debate on live because of that quote.
