I'm a newbie level 6 Shadowknight.
I have been using a 2HS (Shiny Brass Halberd) and was wondering if that was the best combat skill to be raising.
Anyone know what at this point is the most important combat skill for a SHD to raise?
Like what weapons we usually use during endgame?
Thanks in advance.

Looks up Noctivigant Blade, Ebon Mace, Mace of the Shadowed Soul (a bit cheaper). Sk only 1 handers are very nice during this era.

If you are just starting off on the server without rich friends then the weapons listed are too pricey for you...
Cheap Weapons:
1hs Polished Granite Tomahawk
1hs Bladed Thulian Claws
2hs Dark Reaver
2hs Mith 2Hander (more expensive)
End game weapons:
1hs Noctivgant Blade
1hb Mace of the Shadowed Soul
1hb Ebon Mace
2hs Jade Inlaid Crescent Axe
2hb Deathbringer's Rod
2hb Granite Face Grinder
2hb Rod of Lamenation
You will also need a shield
For the moment crescent mistmoore shield should be ok
eventually get Sarnak Battle Shield or
Atramaneous Shield (sp?)
or the extremely rare PoH drop Ashenbone Shield
PM me in game and i'll hook you up with some basic weapons

You're gonna like this advice :)
Don't sweat it. Raise the skill when you get a better weapon.
My sk on live was almost totally 2hs. An ogre with slam I didnt use much else. I would occasionally get a 2hb that was better an fear/kite the skill up or ask groups if I could whomp on their mobs when bored. Piercing wasnt as important until I got a toy Tantor's Tusk. If I was gonna pick one skill to keep 2HS all the way due to the options.
In Kunark we got some good 1handers. I had a MOSS to for tanking (tho I normally went 2hander in groups). It was cheap and easier to justify than a Noc or Ebon Mace. In Velious good 1hs are plentiful (like the sword of pain in velks). 1hb somewhat popular. Piercing not really minus some Ntov/sleepers 2handers that use the same skill.
You can drive yourself nuts with this game. Getting a skill up is frustrativ but fits the theme :p. In a day or two you will be banging out decent dps.
I will say that there are plenty of situational weapons worth carrying end-game. I think I carried like 4 2handers and 2 1handers at all times.

I think there's a damage cap of 20 points in place until level 10... that means that any weapon with a damage over 10 damage is wasting the rest of its damage until level 10 or higher.
So use a decent little 50-100pp 1-hander until level 10 and at that time, you might be able to use some of the lower damage/faster delay 2-handers effectively. (Ironically some of the better of these like the Polished Granite Tomahawk don't proc until 10 so maybe wait a few levels after that, even!)

Get sword of skyfire to start out, 10/22 is perfect for the damage cap. They are relatively cheap, maybe 300pp?
Start eyeing a good 2h for level 20 since you won't be getting a damage bonus, so 2h will be more dps for a while. I'd stay 2h until 40ish at least.

Yea the cap is a problem. Still swords like the Nathsar Greatsword is pretty good for twinking. 17/30 2hs. I would think using that until 20's would maul mobs where a Blade of Xalgoz could be had for spare change to take advantage of higher dmg caps.
I think I leveled with a dark reaver back then but there are definitely better weapons. In the end you will end up maxing most your skills.
The pgt is a great starter but the best upgrade for the $ is like a skyfire. The Noc is a huge jump. For small races tho 1h is seriously attractive. Bash is a life saver.
Level all of them.

With the damage cap at 20 max damage until lvl 10 that 17/30 will really be a 10/30. Its nicer at lvl 10 when the cap opens up to 28, but still cap limited.
