Howdy I was wondering if anyone knew how to run the game on full screen mode and customize the controls?
Also is an erudite wizard a good starting choice for a character? I dumped all my points into int and the 5 leftover into stamina. I never did play EQ although a lot of my friends did(didn't have internet growing up) so I saw this and figured I'd give it a shot.

Under Options, the Key Bindings tab will allow you to customize all of the controls, and you can also find the keyboard commands for full screen mode.
As for race/class, play what you want and ignore everyone else's opinions. For wizards though, I will suggest you put more points into STR or STA than INT. INT is a fairly easy stat to max. Also, for groups, mana regeneration matters more than maximum mana pool, while for soloing (read: quad kiting) maximum mana pool is more important than mana regeneration rate.
STR will allow you to carry more loot, STA will help with HPs (although int casters get a horrible STA->HP conversion ratio) and both are much harder to cap on caster gear than INT is. Also, I believe INT has a soft cap prior to 255 of 200 (I think it's 200).

Ah thanks a lot, I might as well restart because I think I flagged myself for pvp.

Welcome to the game! If you never played EQ before at all, you're in for a treat.
I hope you have an RL friend who can show you the ropes though. This game is very unforgiving, especially if you're coming from a modern MMO, or have never even played an MMO at all...

You can also head to Qeynos and do a quest to remove the PvP flag.
Do yourself a favor and choose any class other than a wizard or ranger. Both are horribly underpowered until Luclin, and this server is never going to Luclin.

this server is never going to Luclin.
I wouldn't be so sure. If it lives long enough it just might.

Even if it did, Luclin would be a LONG ways off. He would have more than enough time to level 2 or 3 characters to cap before it hits lol
Devs have always been pretty solid about never going to Luclin as far as I know, Webwolf. You hear otherwise from a dev?

estu, they want to keep this classic as possible, yes, but if others are still playing and i mean alot with the numbers now in years to come are still logging in daily, i think they may bring out luclin, but thats it
