I'm trying to powerlevel my brothers 16 nec with my 45 monk. We're in LoIO and i'm attacking anything red to him, I take the mob down to 15% or less then i'll FD and he finishes it off with the pet+melee (spells won't land) but usually he will only get 1-2%xp but there has been a few times he's gotten 6-7%xp.

what am i doing wrong?

Have him melee the mob from the begining.

Seems like pets stealing exp sometimes.

will try that out. Thanks!

does it matter if the mob is running away? I did some forum search from classic and some people said if the mob is running then you have to FD when it's turning around.

Just use level 1 lifetap and it should have a strong chance of landing. Also, he himself has to deal at least 1 damage on each mob or the pet will take 75% of the exp earned.

He should start attacking the mob as soon as you do just to decrease the amount of time he spends trying to hit it (he'll miss a lot at that level). Like Slave said you should see if lifetaps will land. Also he probably just shouldn't summon his pet if he's being PLed.

nah the pet is fine, just make sure he tags the mob with the level 1 lifetap.

and obviously make sure you're FDing correctly, turn off auto attack etc.
