Hi folks Porgat is going to explore the world of project 1999. Porgat is a young ogre warrior with dreams of explorer the dangerous dungeons of Norrath. For this reason Porgat has decided the adventure he will take will be an adventure through the dungeons of Norrath whenever the option presents itself! Porgat's goals are big like himself. He is ready to take the challenge on with his training tunic and sword in hand! You can see a picture below of Porgat a stranger to combat just leaving Oggok.

Porgat is learning quickly how to survive in the wild. I think that lizard has had enough.

After advancing to the 2nd level, Porgat decided to explore further southeast. Porgat knew Trolls lived nearby but have never ventured as far as to see their homeland. Porgat has decided he will make this town home while he improves his skills further.
http://img823.imageshack.us/img823/7287/lvl2grobbent.jpg
Porgat dreams of seeing far away lands. He has heard stories of a dangerous places and tales of a cave filled with commerce where magical ones gather. Beings who can teleport another across unimaginable distances. Porgat has also heard lore of danger right in his backyard. Every little ogre growing up is told of the Froglok menace growing in Innothule Swamp. Porgat will sleep well tonight dreaming of the adventures to come!

*** Updated 9/12/11 ***
Porgat was excited to get started on his goal to reach the level of 6th training today. He may have been a little to over zealous to begin with. After killing a few rats and tadpoles, he ventured north towards Guk's entrance to battle Frogloks. This resulted in a couple of deaths for poor Porgat. After a two long trips back from Feerrott to gather his belongings, Porgat humbly continued to slaughter rats and tadpoles till he reached a greater level in his trainings. Porgat was lucky to loot a cracked staff for which replaced his training sword originally given to him upon the start of his journey. After reaching the 3rd level of training, Porgat eagerly decided to test his abilities against the foes that defeated him previously in which he prevailed. Eat a cracked staff Froglok!
http://img268.imageshack.us/img268/5999/lvl3innothuleswpfroglok.jpg
Along the journey Porgat met many friendly Norrathians that assisted him in his adventure to the 6th level of training. Porgat was glad for the support as it made his training proceed much quicker and safely. One fellow adventurer generously provided Porgat with a two handed rusty battle axe, his first gift. Porgat believed he could battle all the creatures of Norrath now with his newly obtained weapon. Porgat felt a warm sense of brotherhood with his new friend.
http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/7622/lvl3rsty2hbaxetaipu.jpg
Some of these Norrathians were odd in appearance to Porgat, these strange friendly creatures were named; Tarhiel, Valere, and Lives. With their magical tricks, Porgat felt 10 times stronger and faster than before! There was one little peculiar creature named Tycri that made Porgat unbelievably powerful for a short time. With the speed at his feet and the thorns that covered his body, Porgat was rapidly upon his goal of reaching the 6th level. Oh my looks like there was a massacre!
http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/8540/lvl5innothswpslaughter.jpg
The jungles of Innothule Swamp was a dangerous place indeed. Though Porgat was gaining strength and experience, he still found times where he must escape from harm. Thankfully in one of these dire instances, another fellow adventurer named Ideza came to his rescue. Porgat decided he would bide his time until he would revisit those Froglok guards with a little revenge. During Porgat's adventure there were some note worthy events, such as Porgat looting his very first bag. This was a welcomed find! Porgat made the journey to town quite often with his spoils of battle. These trips to Grobb were becoming quite lucrative for Porgat. He obtained his first platinum piece by selling his Cracked Staff! The staff served Porgat well, he was a little sad to part with it. Once Porgat reached his 5th level in his journey, he kept his promise. It was revenge time! Porgats back Frogloks!
http://img823.imageshack.us/img823/5863/lvl5innothswprevenge.jpg
Porgat finally reached his goal of the 6th level of training. Now that his time here in Innothule Swamp was coming to an end today, he knew he would have Froglok battles filling his dreams that night. Porgat has grown to despise Frogloks and has vowed to assist in thwarting their plans. Porgat felt in his heart that even though Norrath was a brutal world, he would prevail because of the Norrathians that fill it. Porgat made the journey home to Oggok.
http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/9345/lvl6jrnyhomeentinnothsw.jpg
Porgat knew he must gather supplies for the adventure ahead. Smashing Frogloks in Upper Guk is dangerous work, but some ogre has to do it.
http://img651.imageshack.us/img651/4561/lvl6jrnyhomeferrottbuys.jpg
Porgat made one last visit before he departed. This visit was to his mentor Guntrik. Porgat felt proud as he approached Guntrik to train new skills. He couldn't but help feel Oggok is a bit smaller since his last visit. Porgat's eyes have been opened.

*** Thanks to all who assisted Porgat with buffs and overall niceness. Also thank you to those who joined Porgat in Upper Guk to slay those nasty Frogloks! ***

Your only non Crushbone options are Kurns, Befallen, and apparently Upper Guk.

You're already near Upper Guk and it's probably your best option anyways. Kurn's is nice but would definitely require a port and you'd have nowhere to train. You can get a bind in Grobb and use the warrior trainers there.
If I wasn't burnt out on P99 I'd roll a shaman to join you =\

Edited the story, you may want to reread it. Things have changed! I am glad you guys are enjoying the story. I hope this gives new people a sense of adventure and urge to give project 1999 a try. Some people that are rather new to MMOs think developer led quest is the only way it can work.
This game has so much to offer. If a new person gets anything from my journey, I hope it's that in project 1999 you make your own quest. It is all up to you!

The thing about being an evil race is that it's disadvantageous in the earlier levels but convenient later on. If you went to a zone like Blackburrow, you'd have to find a bind in Qeynos and then slay hundreds of gnolls to get enough faction to enter Qeynos and even then you might not be able to train, sell etc. At like 12-14ish you can do Unrest until Mistmoore, etc, but those zones are all near good hubs. It's better to stay near your hometown in the lower levels since you have more skills to train (parry, dual wield, etc all come early, but there isn't much to train later on so you can be a bit more independent).
However the higher end dungeons are right in your backyard. Upper Guk is right next to Grobb and Nagafen's Lair (SolB) is right by Neriak.

Thanks Mardur! I am a little nervous on how my first grouping experience will go with Porgat being in newbie gear. I have taken your advice and plan to venture into Upper Guk first. I will be on some time tonight LFG. Hopefully he will have a successful trip if he can get a group there. Time to punish some Frogloks!

By the way, I meant to say Lower Guk for the higher end dungeons but you probably noticed that. Not sure what the Upper Guk population is like nowadays. Back when the server first came, there were tons of ogres and trolls fighting the newbie stuff at the entrance (and even some erudites etc who made the journey, upper guk has a huge experience bonus). Unfortunately now most people only do the higher end camps in Upper Guk meant for 15+. You may need to carefully solo the frogs outside in Innothule and the very entrance of Guk. But be careful, you don't have to go very far inside the dungeon before running into higher level frogloks and (the worst) casters. Always fight near the zoneline when soloing in there.
Don't forget, bind wound = more exp per hour when you're soloing. Buy bandages and use the skill whenever you can (under 50% hp), it'll pay off. Even at higher levels you should be able to solo dark blues while waiting for groups, but it's the downtime regening back HP that absolutely kills you.

*** Updated 9/12/11 ****
Porgat arrived back to Grobb fully supplied and ready to practice the new skills that Guntrik has taught him. Porgat excitedly set out for Upper Guk, were the root of the infestation has been reported. Porgat knew he must not enter alone as Upper Guk is a dangerous place. He began his search for companions to assist him in his quest. During this time, Porgat met an interesting Norrathian that bound his soul in the city known as Grobb. This is the first time Porgat has lost that tie to his hometown Oggok. Porgat was grateful to this little blue Norrathian as he planned to battle here for quite sometime.
http://img231.imageshack.us/img231/7286/lvl6grobb1stbinddralock.jpg
Not long after his search for companions outside of Guk, Porgat met two magical creatures that too were on a quest for Upper Guk. These were interesting characters indeed. Porgat has never heard so much wonderful strange music in his life. He certainly wasn't in Oggok anymore! Porgat and group boldly entered Guk axe and instruments in hand, ready for war. They battled fiercely but eventually had to admit defeat. Frogloks of Upper Guk proved to be a challenging adversary. Porgat though defeated, was not ready to give up the fight.
http://img835.imageshack.us/img835/4528/lvl6uguksheerahemmure1.jpg
Even so that the great new musical friends he made had to depart, he continued to search for more adventures while honing his skills in Innothule Swamp. This is when he met a friendly tiny creature with hair growing on it's feet. Porgat was no stranger to the world any longer. Porgat recalled meeting a funny little Norrathian like this before. With the magical spells placed upon him, Porgat was once again moving with great speed and covered in bristly briars that made it impossible for foes to trump him. Porgat was starting to grow very fond of these hairy little creatures. With this assistance, Porgat entered his 8th level of training.
http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/9716/lvl78innothdrdbuffstwai.jpg
Porgat's search for a band of adventurers to battle the powerful Frogloks of Upper Guk was proving to be difficult. Porgat though was not disheartened, he continued sharpening his skills.
He continued to grow more wealthy off the bounty of his defeated enemies and protected by the generous gifts of other Norrathians. Porgat was very grateful for the assistance, he was starting to become a powerful warrior most definitely!
http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/4539/lvl7innothgiftszavik.jpg
Porgat felt like king of the hill as he proudly held his new Beetle Stinger in hand!
http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/3778/lvl7innothgiftsequipedz.jpg
Just before Porgat ended his search for the night, an unlikely companion arrived to assist Porgat in his battle for Upper Guk. This dark Norrathian had the power to control the undead. With his assistance, the Frogloks of Upper Guk suffered a great blow to their growing population.
http://img695.imageshack.us/img695/9734/lvl8uguknobanelenartik.jpg
Porgat ended the night feeling satisfied. Though the battle hasn't been won, he knew that as long as there was danger in the world he would be there to fight it. Porgat reflected on his meager beginnings and how far he has come.

*** Update 9/14/11 ***
Porgat once again set out determined to punish the evil Frogloks of Upper Guk. He was becoming very confident in his ability to snuff out these adversaries. On Porgat's last adventure he reached the 8th level in his training and today had his mind set on reaching the 10th level. Porgat also was becoming fairly efficient at applying a bandage after a risky brawl.
http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/8217/lvl8uppergukbandaging.jpg
Porgat continued to meet generous Norrathians willing to help him in his journeys. They came in all shapes, colors and sizes. Some provided mysterious magic that always puzzled Porgat yet filled him with courage.
http://img195.imageshack.us/img195/5402/lvl8innothuleswphelpful.jpg
There was also another Norrathian named Valere whom Porgat met before. This little furry creature provided assistance with equipment to help Porgat survive another day. He felt protected wearing his new Split Paw Hide Tunic and wielding a Shiny Brass Halberd in hand!
http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/8592/lvl9giftsvaleresplitpaw.jpg
By the 9th level of training Porgat had become a student in the art of archery. Practice makes perfect Porgat!

Porgat was very willing to practice when it came to Frogloks ...
http://img847.imageshack.us/img847/6831/lvl9innothuleswparchery.jpg
Another skill Porgat was learning rapidly was how to swim from all the time he has been spending in Innothule Swamp. Though as awkwardly as you might think an ogre would swim, he is managing quite effectively!
http://img692.imageshack.us/img692/893/lvl10innothuleswpswimi.jpg
Porgat reached his 10th level of training and decided to travel home to visit his mentor Guntrik for further advancement.
http://img832.imageshack.us/img832/9938/lvl10oggoktraining.jpg
Porgat missed Oggok, this visit was a welcomed one. Porgat satisfied with his accomplishments, rested comfortably in his home city. Even so, curiosity was getting the better of him. Porgat was ready to see more of Norrath, he planned to do just that!

Time has come again to tell the tales of Porgat the Adventurer. Porgat grew restless with Froglok extermination. He planned to set out to see more of Norrath. So without further thought, Porgat set off to do just that. Porgat seen strange lands and structures like he never seen before during his travels.
http://img844.imageshack.us/img844/6165/eq1w.jpg
Porgat decided he did not care for sand. He had a time keeping out of places it should not be. Porgat also was finding that there were creatures in this world that wished to do him harm other than frogloks. Some of these creatures were much more powerful than his previous foes.
http://img585.imageshack.us/img585/1948/eq2u.jpg
Just before Porgat felt if he seen any more sand he would smash something, he came upon a cave. Could this be the legendary cave that was the center of commerce for Norrath? Porgat could remember when he was just a little ogre-ling staring up at his mentor Guntrik wide eyed when he heard the tales.
http://img577.imageshack.us/img577/1782/eq3.jpg
Porgat was in awe of how many fellow adventurers were gathered here. Guntrik's tales were true, the hustle and bustle of daily trading was dizzying for poor Porgat. He had to stop a moment to keep from falling over.
http://img847.imageshack.us/img847/2981/eq4t.jpg
Porgat did not sharpen his axe for nothing. Porgat soon found like minded explorers that were gathered for a quest to battle the growing orc encampments in the lands of East Commonlands. This was a strange land with strange enemies but Porgat was up for the challenge.
http://img825.imageshack.us/img825/4230/eq5p.jpg
Porgat though far from his homeland continued to meet friendly Norrathians that were generous with providing armor and weapons that allowed Porgat to face the most deadly foes without flinching.
http://img822.imageshack.us/img822/5664/eq6i.jpg
These companions came in different shapes, sizes and colors but Porgat was always happy to see them.
http://img268.imageshack.us/img268/6706/eq7g.jpg
One Norrathian was much more advance than Porgat and party. He assisted in advanced combat training that provided experience at a rapid pace.
http://img705.imageshack.us/img705/6866/eq8a.jpg
In no time Porgat reached this 13th level of training. He traveled home to Oggok to learn the skill of dual wield from his mentor Guntrik.
http://img809.imageshack.us/img809/5731/eq10.jpg
Porgat joined a fellow adventurer in the Oasis of Marr to hone in his new combat skill. Porgat was humbled to meet a creature that made him feel small as a house mouse. Porgat wondered if this is how his halfling friends felt when standing near him.

Porgat was invited to meet with a famous Norrathian Hagglebaron that was retiring from leadership of The Trade Federation. This was an honor indeed for Porgat. The Trade Federation was well known even in Oggok if only in myths. This legendary gnome was full of generosity.
http://img202.imageshack.us/img202/4836/eq12.jpg
Porgat was provided funds to purchase the protection needed for future adventures. Porgat's close and dear friend Shamnasty, an expert in trade assisted him in locating gear designed for his figure. Porgat was big boned like his mother.
http://img703.imageshack.us/img703/7373/eq13.jpg
Porgat a second time, battled foes in Oasis of Marr to further his Warrior training. Porgat and company were assisted by an advanced adventurer named Hokushin. This individual provided the mentoring needed to vanquish a large foe indeed!
http://img819.imageshack.us/img819/6622/eq14.jpg
Porgat had many more adventures during his journey to the 15th level in training. One such adventure was in a deadly dungeon named Befallen. A magical Shaman had the power to shrink Porgat to the size of a Dwarf! Porgat was once again humbled.
http://img703.imageshack.us/img703/8933/eq16.jpg
Porgat and party grew rapidly in experience from their battles in Befallen. There was danger at every turn. Porgat knew without the assistance of his new friends, he would never be able to find his way out of this maze.
http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/2948/eq17.jpg
Porgat also fought a powerful troll that held the keys to allow for an exit of Befallen. He knew the importance of these newly obtained keys. He stored them in the bag that held his most valuable possession, his food.

Not soon after this trip, Porgat reached his journey to the 15th level of training. Guntrik referred him to Ranjor in Grobb for further training to lessen travel time. Though reluctant, Porgat visited Ranjor to train in the new skill double attack.

Porgat went to sleep that night thinking that one day he too may be training young ogre-lings to be a Warrior.
*** Thanks to all who assisted Porgat with buffs and overall niceness! ***
To be continued ... may be a little while for the next update. I am helping a real life friend level a cleric to join me in adventures! Also, I plan to update in 5 level intervals. Feel free to suggest where Porgat should adventure from levels 15-20!

Hooray for the continued success of Porgat!
If you're looking for a zone that's almost always empty, despite being easy to get to, Lavastorm is chock full of mobs to kill in the 15-20 range; especially the Southern half.

Porgat Adventures in Unrest = Win.
I inspected him the other day and it kinda delayed my game for a second with all of his shinies. I thought to myself "why can't I be showered in gifts" and "shit, why don't I just blog?" and realized, there can only be one Porgat.

Thanks everyone! I am glad you are enjoying his journeys as much as I am telling them. I updated the first page with links to make it easy to read the entire story. My cleric friend is catching up quickly to Porgat's level. We should be adventuring to 20 in no time!

Porgat your misbegotten fame and gross misrepresentation of the ogre race as a whole would yield a ban hammer grief training that would result in a deleveled porgat and banned knukle account. luckily red99 is on the horizon so i will vent my hatred elsewhere. Cheers.

Picturing Brad Pitt saying this statement is quite funny.

I have been playing Porgat with a cleric friend some in groups and I have decided I want Porgat to be a Shadowknight. I just don't have it in me to deal with the agro issues and also I butchered his starting stats. I want to thank all of you all the feedback you gave me on his story. It is nice when someone enjoys something that you enjoy making.
I will be remaking my blog on my adventures as a shadowknight because my original goal is to be able to look back later when I reach max level and read it. Some people gave Porgat some starting items. If you want to have them back that is okay. If not I will be using them on Porgat the SK. Thanks again, I have enjoyed this community so far.

You are a glass half empty type of guy aren't you? It's okay I understand the skepticism, I don't fault you for that. The world is full of people scamming. I have offered to return items if requested and I do plan on continuing with the server just as a SK. ;) Cheers!

It is just...just.... So many of us wanted to see porgat succeed as a warrior. It is a harder road traveled than sk but I believe that is why you got the support that you did.
Good luck friend, I wish you the best.
Horray, another Craknek sees the light and applies to the might of the Greenbloods!
If you're still keeping the picture stories going, I'd say playing an SK makes em tons more entertaining. Alot more options to do stuff especially come later levels, what with having FD + two invisibilities (and some actual ability to accomplish something solo, unlike dem wars!).

www.blogspot.com or www.wordpress.com would both allow you to create a free blog to chronicle your adventures and include your screenshots. i like both. blogspot.com is a lot more user friendly.
btw: Porgat - contact me in game or in a pm here on forums please.

What crack pipe are you smoking? 40% EXP penalty, plus the multiply ogre penalty, is a mighty hard road to travel.
Back on topic...good luck Porgat! Hoping to see more updates (even if they are starting from L1 again)!

Yes unfortunately previously had some personal issues in my life requiring me to take a break for a while. I decided to try my hand at a shaman because a real life friend is playing monk with me. Yes jumped on the bandwagon!
We want to be able to duo due to limited playtime together, do not have much time to search for a group. Hopefully we will still get in some. :) Thanks for all who enjoyed Porgat's story, I really enjoyed making it. Maybe at some point I will have the funds to really get a warrior some weapons that hold some agro to add to the gear that was given to me which I am saving for my next try. (Thanks to all who helped out Porgat, people have been really nice on the server). Until then hope to see you all in game!
