So on live tons of people boxed, i know i used to. I mostly just liked being able to log on my druid for ports and my enchanter for buffs, and do trades and what not. The obvious difference here is everyone would do it because the accounts are free. However to mitigate that make it so after you donate X ammount of dollars you could be allowed to box another toon? I know this is going to make a ton of people get all red face and cynical but think about it. Boxing was apart of classic live, and it was cashola that made that possible. It might also make people donate who normally would never, and that helps out the whole community by ensuring the continuation of the project. Its just an idea tho. I might recomend an ammount 100.00 USD. That way its not common. Ok..Let the flames begin.

Incentives for donation are not legal I'm pretty sure.

This idea has been brought up numerous times. Please refer to the 60 billion other 2-boxing threads.
Ok..Let the flames begin.

Did you or have you already been boxing on P99 and are now looking for a reason that will make it legit, so you and others can enjoy the freedom and not having to hide anymore?

Never understood why people box. If you guys want to lead a 5 man or something by yourself there's plenty of games like Final Fantasy 12/13 where this is the point. If you're just buffing a character with alts so you can solo find a group. If you want to solo but can't without tons of buffs play another class.

Running multiple accounts at the same time was actually initially against the rules on live.

The basic argument against two boxing is that it will kill the community.
Grouping will become very rare as the right class combos can duo many many things.
Less room in groups for people cause 2 2 boxers only leaves 2 exta group spots instead of 4.
Camps will never open up because I can camp a toon at Frenzy 24/7 while I run around killing shit on another toon.
Poopsocking is no longer a chore because people can sit one toon on the ledge in traks lair and run around playing on another.
EC will be nothing but afk trade mules.
There are many other reason but I am too lazy to type them.
On a side note I wish we could two box outside of EC - Cause boxing in EC would put me out of bidness! =)

Boxing removes the social aspect of EverQuest. This game, from Classic up until Luclin was all about making connections and meeting people. You HAD to, otherwise you would not survive the game alone.
And to say that people were commonly boxing during classic is not true. We're talking 1999-2000 here. The people who were sucessfully boxing had multiple computers running at the same time (Sam Deathwalker, anyone?). Hardware wasn't at the point where you could alt-tab between five instances of EQ and run your own group.
Additionally, the population of live servers could handle the fact that people would box. There would always be enough people not boxing to make up for the very small population that did. It's a waste of Dev time to have to police the entire server for people who are spending real money on the game. Not to mention it puts all of P99 at risk in a legal manner (assuming Sony would ever take action against them, which I doubt at this point)
It wasn't until PoP or Luclin that boxing became more prevalent but by this time SoE had already given up and account trading/selling ran rampant.
That's another thing to consider. P99 has a strict policy about RMT, boxing encourages the buying and selling of accounts. You can say "only allow accounts to be for sale for in game items" but we all know how that works out.
Boxing will not do anyone favors here, and this is coming from someone who rolled a druid and could power level all the alts I've been dying to play without any real effort.
EQ is great because it forces you to be social. Those that aren't are forced to play solo or move on to another game.
Edit: If you want to see what boxing does to a server, form a group on EZ Server where everyone only plays 1 account at a time. Oh wait, that doesn't exist there. Damn.

Boxing - the very reason why every other Emu server only has a fraction of real population that P99 has, and no one ever groups...
They all keep saying, that "we only allow boxing cause there are so few real players", never realizing, they have so few real players cause everyone boxes...
Some of those servers would have been much more fun, and A LOT more active players, if boxing would have been disabled
Sad...
Yes, people boxed on live - but their number was LESS than 1% of total player base.
In my time on EQ I was in 4 different guilds, totaling more than 400 active members. Among them, there was JUST ONE person who was running a 2nd box

I don't know about all that but i'd gladly "donate" $20 if the they would actually take a look at my god damn petition that's been laying dormant for what seems like forever. If you and your roommate want to play this game together. guess what? your fucked

I boxed (2 computers) on live, since right after started (Luclin release). When I started a friend was also playing, but then left. I pick up his account and paid for it and mine for the next 4 years. I think that is the thing I miss the most when I play here. My classic (yeah yeah i know you all don't think Luclin is classic) experience was boxing my Cleric and friend's Shaman.
It's against the rules here so I don't fight it, but I still miss it.
Edit: Back in early Luclin, I never ran across many people running 2, but by PoP it was far form uncommon on the Luclin server to see a 2-box.

No nerd rage here...but I'd simply walk away from the server if boxing were added. No interest.
