Starting Over.....MELEE!!!

I have primarily played caster classes on all the games I've been on, with the occassional class used for picking locks or something. I am wanting to give it a shot on P99. Any suggestions on the most satisfying melee class to play? I am not that interested on being the UBER damager, or best tanker, just wanna have some fun and be a needed class for some good grouping and friend making

It's hard to say myself what my perception of fun would be. I have never had the melee experience. I am not sure if I'd like tanking, backstabbing, anything really. Was looking for a good imput on maybe a mixture of them all.

Thanks to everyone else so far on the suggestions though! I HAVE been looking into ranger and it looks fun but bard seems like they get SO MUCH stuff.....are they decent ?>

bards get a lot of stuff and are quite good, but they do require a lot of effort to get going

well, every class has its fun-parts...
its pretty fun to group as a warrior.. its pretty sad to solo with him tho..
same with rogues.....

Rogues have that satisfying feel to them when you do an extremely hard backstab or if your delay is really low.

Rangers are fun. Tracking, Archery, Dual-Wield, SOW, Snare, Self DS, modest self-healing, and Harmony. You can solo some outdoors using Snare/Panic animal. You can't take a hit, and when you do get a group you gotta be sure not to draw aggro off the main tank. And. most importantly, wolves think you are cool.

Paladins are also fun, especially if you stick to fighting undead.

You're pretty set with any melee, really. I'd imagine rangers are the rarest right now. I've been tempted to start one up.
