Skys are on. Everyone I have talked to says skys are black in most zones. Maybe it is the default UI I use is bugged. If you are saying the skys are normal in every zone.

From page 3

Fixed by reverting my resources folder to version 13 from 14 as I suspected. Further than that I'm not sure what file in that folder was doing it, but now my loading screen and my sky are both working like normal. *shakes fist*

Yeah skies are normal for me if i turn them on. I usually run with them off.

It has to do with the new resources folder included with the updates. Most likely your loadscreen isn't working as well? I would try copying the old resources folder back and see if that takes care of it. It worked for me during the last patch, but I haven't tried it yet for this patch. I will do it today and let you know.

Figured it out, we've been derping the entire time.

If you open up the resources folder in the new download you will see that it really only has 1 file in it. Compare that to the previous resources folder you had been using, which has all of your weather, skys, loadscreens etc. I had copied the new resources directory into my EQlite folder overwriting my old one, when in fact the only thing you need to copy is the file in the folder from the download, and NOT the entire directory.

Sorry to keep ya hanging been really busy. Where do I get the old resource folder? When I look in my current resource folder I have: globalload.txt, normcude.dds, power.dds.

That's because you overwrote your old one. Thankfully I backed mine up, not sure where you can get a copy of the old one.

second thread with solution at the end
http://www.project1999.org/forums/showthread.php?t=48243

its basically like mcbard said, if you copy the resource folder from the update and allow it to copy over your resource folder in your EQ directory you lose all of your sky rain snow and some other graphics such as your loading screen. (this is obviously where you would want to go to "adjust" these classic "features" :P)

to prevent this make sure you make a backup of your resource folder, and only copy the files inside the resource folder in the update to your resource folder on your computer.

if you have already lost the files, maybe someone could put up a zip file but you may just have to reinstall EQ, then remember to keep a backup from the fresh install to further prevent having to reinstall. i have heard many people suggesting having 2 EQ folders.

If i redownload everquest, and just put the correct file in the resource folder instead of replacing the entire folder with the new updates I should be good?

There ya go, just uploaded mine, it has the current files in it as well. Only thing you may wanna change is I use the classic load screen from here http://www.project1999.org/files/classic/loadscreen.jpg
