We all want a competitive advantage, and the fairness of said advantage is dictated by the Devs. It can be legit or non-legit. A guild, or MQ. A leveling spot you know about, or rechargeable wands. Some previous boxes had biased GMs. But it's whatever.

We all come in with expectations of getting this advantage, but when we realize it doesn't work the way we expected, it gets changed, OR our advantage isn't as useful compared to other people's advantage. This is when numbers start to dwindle.


He got that item before quest got taken out, but I didn't
He keeps wanding me
Our guild sucks OR their guild is better
This takes too long to level
Insert random QQ here


It happens every box. Sooner or later we will realize the super slow xp rate and other classic things are unnecessary time sinks. I'll post my solution elsewhere.

On the contrary, I believe the slow xp and classic features are what gives the game longevity and meaning. There have been plenty of attempts at non-classic PvP emus, and none have been particularly succesful. Red99 is already a staggering success, so doom and gloom posts are pretty fucking idiotic. The server is doing great, some people just throw tantrums if it isn't exactly what they demand.

The xp rate sucks so bad :(

but it is good for us, and we do need it. And c'mon Castle, there are already like LOTS more Thex daggers on this server than there should be. You can probably buy one for 50pp due to thex inflation.

I've seen you QQing about thex daggers in like 3 or 4 other posts.... chill brew, buy one for 50pp in a week. Atm people are gunna be like "QUest TkEn out? lololol 300pp!!1" Give it a week or two.

Get rid of all Thex daggers, as if they never existed. What do people lose, the small amount of time spent making a level 1 hobbit? It was a ridiculous quest that gave an item with way too much + sv disease that didn't even need to be equipped as a melee weapon.

If they had the good sense to remove the quest they should have the good sense to remove all daggers from the game. Pretend they never existed in the first place. Otherwise this is the kind of move that alienates players and makes them play elsewhere. Is that what we want?

The easy answer is to actually edit the item itself. Drop the disease resist down to +5 in the items file. Easy fix to a stupid problem.

Want to see who exploited to level, compare their played time to their current level in the backend database.

+5 instead of +50 works too. I actually prefer that. Not that I mind losing an item I didn't have to work or camp for, but at least the power of the dagger would fit the ease of the quest.

I hate the slow xp and ill be way behind everyone to 50, but I think this server will last where others fell.

Difference is the dagger is ranged so it's not taking up useful ring slots. If the dagger was only primary/secondary it wouldn't be nearly as bad.

yea i know its a p OP item since disease has always been the fallback for shm/nec, the least cared about resist. I saw about 100 halfling corpses at the princess in highkeep (I guess all the pvp, bitch was 17 min spawn and depops on the turn in).

Im guessing you're looking at about 100 or so total on the server, and of that half the classes (the "good"ish ones) cant even use.

this #'s is all speculation.

I would guess there is more like 500-600 thex daggers, as I know individuals with more than 10-15 themselves.

500-600 seems a lil high.

10 days = 14400 minutes / 17 min = potential 847

first few days there was no hobbit trains of thex dupers and I saw like 2 total people do it once during that time, plus normal downtime seen hhk empty a lot and not many people ran the trip 10-15x

they lore so did you hand them out to random noobs or you just get a friend to load like 5 accounts with them?

The timesinks can drive players away, but more often keep players on the box. Say the 10x exp rate was still in, there'd be several hundred players at 50 already, with what to do? Camp loots? Sure, until ya get 'em all. Pvp? A few skilled, organized pvpers would rock the high level pvp while the rest who didn't have enough time to learn their class would get raped until they quit or got good (probably quit). Pvp during leveling makes it interesting. The grind sucks, but it's why you will rarely ever see someone at 50 who is bad at playing their class. You've got like forever to level up.

You're all missing the point of grind exp.

More time invested= Less likely to hack and be a fucking prick because you're scared your pixel months will be lost.

The dev team set the standard by leaving wands in as they are classic, we can only assume they have given us the green light to utilize other such classic methods to level until enough ppl QQ about em. Use these sploits, erm working as intended methods, to advance your char.
