For years the US has been funding terrorists (militant ethnic separatist groups) in Iran to destabilize the regime. For years the US has been behind mysterious explosions on Iranian soil, conducted extra-judicial assassinations of Iranian nuclear scientists on Iranian soil, and been responsible for sophisticated cyber-attacks. The US is has invaded and maintained long-term military occupations of two of Iran's direct neighboring countries. Of course, this is while the US has surrounded Iran on all sides with U.S. Military bases, see image below. Each star marks a US military base. But Iran is threatening us, we're not threatening them.
