Doesn't matter whether Lazortag played on live. This was an exploit then and would be an exploit today. Any game mechanic that was not intended, but is used by the players to get an unfair advantage, is an exploit.

if you have an instrument in secondary you CANNOT have a primary

only exception is lute of the howler which was primary and you can equip an offhand ( Usually epic for group buff )

and then your just a bard bitch

Um, there are other primary instruments. And even in classic when you had an instrument in your secondary slot it was only through an exploit that you could have a weapon in your primary. Primary instruments are unique that way - secondary instruments did not let you (legitimately) equip a primary item at the same time.

bard melee sux , and with instrument buffs and a weap in primary they would be pretty good
