I've seen shaman hit me for ~130 damage with the gatorsmash maul.
Shaman shouldnt get damage bonus.
Max damage they should do is like 60 damage with 30 damage weapons

dont think dmg bonus was even in classic, but i could be "like" wrong

Damage bonus on non-melee classes never applied. This should be the case on blue as well.

I do remember a fateful day in Velious where Ruhi the troll warrior connected with his warrior epic and thought to myself. "Oh fuck". It was that big of a change.
Before then, I can't really say one way or another what hits should be like.
Then again, it was a change made that made 2handers actually useful.
I think this one needs a little research but it shouldn't be terribly hard to find.

Pretty sure damage bonus wasnt classic. Not that melee need to be nerfed. Shamans shouldnt get it though.

It was classic, it was just increased a bunch in Velious (scales with delay, part of the rebalancing to make 2 handers competitive to 1 handers).
Pretty sure caster classes don't have it tho anyways here.
