My main was a rogue on live from velious to PoP and I could've sworn there was a tiny poison droplet graphic on the Ragebringer that you could barely see, can anyone confirm or deny this? It doesn't have the graphic in p99.

As a former epic rogue I can confirm there was a droplet of poison that would occasionally drop from the tip of the dagger.

Yes, I also remember a rather constant light green drop effect.

I knew it! I asked a few 50+ rogue's and they all laughed at me.... I knew I was right:cool:

you guys sure you NOT confusing it with rogue epic 2.0?

Nope, no way. Rogue epic 1.0 had the green effect. I honestly don't even know what the 2.0 looks like, being that I quit in 2004.

I had rogue epic and quit in 2003 so I can confirm that the poison droplet was on the 1.0, at least after Luclin

It has the effect. Set your max fps to vsync and 60hz refresh and you can see it.

According to the comments on Alla's circa 2002, Ragebringer did not have an effect.

It's perfectly reaonsble to think that perhaps these guys were on low end computers without the spell effects turned up, but nobody corrects them.

I have to say VI has blessed us with one of the worst looking epics in the game. I guess its a pretty cool looking dagger, but it looks nothing like an epic weapon should. Compare it to the warrior's, or SK's, or bard's, or anyones! They should just add some magic radiation coming from it or something or make it change colors or something.

Yeah. Have you even SEEN the necro epic?! Please. Rogue epic may not look GOOD, but at least it doesn't look BAD.

Well, they could give the blade a little better design, say something distinctive at least. Then, put an aura around it like the cleric epic, but instead of the glowing blue aura make it a black aura. Would still stand out, but you could use the roleplay and say the aura is magical and "draws darkness to the blade" hehe

Just my thoughts )

eq devs kinda shafted rogues on the epics...it looks like any normal weapon...but then again its the easiest epic on the server.

thanks this is what I was looking for. I found it quite odd that the effect wouldn't be on the actual weapon, I know for sure it was there I remember seeing it, and also the screen above is exactly what i'm referring to.

I played a rogue on EQ live back in the days. I got my epic before Luclin. The rogue epic, like all other epics, definietly has a particle effect. It is, like said by others in this thread, a very tiny green drop of poison that drips from the Ragebringer ever so often. I am definietly not imagining this.

It wasn't a very noticable effect, but it was there.

I find it hard to be "circa velious" when that's a Luclin character model.

Screenshot says it all let's get this fixed asap plz.

Motec

fixed? Its implimented. but the effect is probably tied to refresh rate or something. Same as how soulfire seems to burn so fast here but on live was a more relaxed flame :p

I see it on my rogue and on every rogue I encounter.

Switched to 60ghz refresh rate and the particle effect is definitely noticeable on the Rogue epic from certain angles.

I see my rogue's epic particle effect just fine. Looks just like on live -- a green ball that drips from tip to crossguard

i still say rogue got shafted in the epic - I have played eq since 99 and this is first time i learned that there is an effect attached to it.... If its there but no can see it - its sad.

to be honest, id rather cruise around non chalant with my ragebringer than go Obi-wan style w/ the warrior lightsabers.

I honestly love the fact that the effect was so subtle and you can barely see it. Kind of represents the rogue as a class. Obscure and hidden.

the rest of my ragebringer close-up screenshots from when I first got it are corrupted.
