Soooo ... i remember getting 10 mana per WIS below 200 @ lvl 50 in classic ...

now i tried unequiping a 5 wis item, taking me from 197 to 192 wis, and i only lost 45 mana .. when i put it back on i also only gain 45 mana .. that would make 9 mana per wis below 200 at lvl 50..

am i rememberig this wrong?

and on the second thought, can anyone confirm only getting 9 and not 10 mana per wis at lvl 50 under 200 wis?

well from what i remember on classic it was about 9 wisdom per wisdom under 200, then at 200 it plummeted to a 1:1 ratio. on here it seems to be about 207(possibly higher) or so then the ratio starts to plummet

I have no idea what it's supposed to be, but thought I'd mention that int works the same way atm, 9 mana per int if under 200.

im still under the impression it used to be 10 mana per int / wis at lvl 50 ... thou before i spend HOURS researching ... i'd preffer some more input from oldschoolers ...

That's how the oldschool mana calculators calculate it yes...

From what I remember, it was a decimal. The calculation was based off of the allowable damage/healing based on certain raid encounter. At least thats what it said on the original FoH forums way back when they were like the EJ forums are for WoW now... (For example... 9.777778) So it would basically end up being 10 mana, but not always. So you could theoretically spam 7 complete heals before going oom. Or spam 8 Ice Comets before going oom. (Max Mana Regen from buffs included in the calculation) Basically limiting what a single player could do, forcing a higher raid population on said mob. Making a minimum of ## players per Cazic Thule kill etc. (Which would makes sense right? .... RIGHT?...*cough* charm *cough*) Though, I could always be talking out of my butt and we could both be wrong uua. :rolleyes:

The mage compendium was last updated in Shadows of Luclin time period. The Geocities one was last updated in Velious. I wouldnt put them down as stone cold evidence.

well below 200 wis they should all be the same ... since diminishing returns only affected 200+ WIS ... and since im experimenting with 190 ~ 197 WIS atm ... it shouldnt matter ... since both calculators tell me i should have 2070 mana at lvl 50 WITHOUT + mana items, and i only have 2057 with +25 on mana ... so 2032 .. that means i lack 38 mana already ...

they should be correct, they use the "official" formular that was leaked by some devs back in the days ... they also include the diminishign returns already .. maybe devs here should use the forumlar :P

Mana = (((Intelligence OR Wisdom)/ 5 ) + 2) * level + optional mana from magic items
