Evil....underwater tomb -.-

lets go ahead and find out who all has had a bad experience due to horrible pathing for this place...

ill start: cleared first 2 levels, pulled the 2 piranah's at 3rd level....they disappear....5 minutes later a mermaid and the entire 3rd floor arrive on first floor

think that covers most people :/

Its not hard to invis up to phinny lol. I believe virt is talking about grouping situations, in which case it is a complete pain in the butt to go ahead and do anything for experience there.

Great ZEM though = )

The trick is don't pull, just go and fight wherever the mob is and mez everything else.

well the first two rooms arent the issue, but when you float down to pull the 2 piranah's in sight it becomes hellacious

i pulled, made sure they were hitting me and floated up.....as soon as i passed the 2nd floor they ran off to aggro everything from floor 3

sad day :/

Yeah.. Invis is your friend in that zone.

Speaking of evil twisty area death traps... my Paw group last night saw its fair share of running-of-the-bulls style disaster. I never xp'd there back in the day but I've never seen a single pull turn into 11 at a time so suddenly. Yay for itchy FD trigger finger

Lguk Bedroom area suffers from the same problem. You'll be pulling a spider, even keeping tabs on it, then it disappears for 15-30 seconds. Half the time it's nothing, half the time it brings 20 mobs with it.

Areas in Sola do the same thing. And 20 if you're lucky... I saw one that was half the zone.

Green pool in Cazic thule, if you look straight down from the ledge you see a few gators. The one to your closest right, if you lull all you see, pull the right one, about 5 come running. Love that pathing.

As for Kedge, I soon hope to be duoing with my clr wife in the Great Hall with all the seahorses and fish. I'm not sure how pathing works there should be interesting. Especially being up in those little spots in the ceiling.

Cant wait to be high enough to hunt there.

The throne room in CT is similar. Unless you do a massive amount of lulling (5 or 6 mobs), pulling the throne always brings about 10.

I died so many times from a seahorse coming through the walls to say hi and then nuke me to death.

Between 30 and 41 (current lvl) I must've gone to Kedge with a group at least 10 times. I can reliably pull the first room with all swordfish, fd break the bottom room with 3 swordfish, a pirahana and a shark, and a 1/5 chance of death pulling third room with golden haired mermaid and 2 pirahnas if FD fails or damn seahorses aggro through walls. That's pretty much constant combat if spawns are broken properly. Not to toot my own horn but I'm a low level Kedge expert :P. 2 Darksea Harpoons, 1 Gloom Harpoon and a shitload of xp, even with the occasional death. Given the awful pathing and aggro ranges through walls I can imagine the rest of the zone is hellish though. But a raid group can prob handle it.

Izni the answer is FD breaking in both cases. Monks are better at it cause it isn't an actual spell, but SK's can manage it as well.

haha same here. Pulled some stuff in the front, everything going smoothly and then all of a sudden I die from a nuke ~600.

These are magic based nukes mostly right? Anyone know offhand the minimum MR needed to resist most of these spells?

I know the tiny green con fish that explode in 1 hit I'm able to resist pretty much all the time, but I don't know about the seahorses and mermaids.

Many a time I have fought a single perfectly pulled mob in there only have have the Seahorse Patriarch wall walk in and say hello. He does that without even pulling sometimes.

Pyrocat knows what hes talking about. KK isn't bad if you realize that it is unlike any other zone and needs to be understood. You'll probably die a lot more while you work out the kinks in your pulling strats. Remember that you are dealing with a Z axis. I suggest you find a 3D map so you can work on not pulling through walls.

And you guys wondered why I blacklisted my own guild???

I was once accused of premature evacuation. We had killed phinny, I didn't realize we hadn't looted yet and Evacted us out.

Back when I played a wizard I became known for gating when things got rough. My friends accused me of being a master gateway.

Many zones suffer from pathing bugs that are unique to the eqemu scene. One famous one that you guys have not seen yet will be in seb. I used to camp the heiro cloak area and next thing I know, my pets would disappear. Didn't think anything of it until all the fungi came on top of me. After 3 wipes like this, I decided never to make pets when farming seb. In fact, I pretty much stopped making pets in any indoor zone for the slightest chance I might aggro thru the walls. Unless the devs fix this when kunark comes, I'm giving fair warning to pet classes, don't make pets here.

Still my all time fav zone for whatever reason. Just had a great feeling in there, spooky!

Those two piranhas at the bottom of the first big drop do not seem to have any z-axis movement ability: they are stuck in the pit. They will path through the wall (aggroing friends) and eventually warp to your location. When killing for experience at the zone entrance, I would always lull/bypass those two mobs and grab the other sharks from that first lower room, which path up that vertical chimney pretty well.

I agree with Rhal, the zone is great--a nice change of pace!

nah its a great zone...if i can get some1 to duo with me down there, we can easily keep the first 2 rooms cleared and be getting a level an hour it seems like....but its just that whole piranah pull that pisses me off lol

Gukag
04-29-2010, 07:53 AM
Yeah thats why I said that second room only had a shark, a pirahna and 3 swordfish. I don't even count the 2 bugged pirahans in the pit anymore. Also, you can manage to kill the hammerhead/cauldron shark just as duo? That's pretty nice, those things hits like a truck and have a load of hp.
