I just hopped onto the server for the first time last night. A friend and I had set up our own private server and it was okay, but we really missed the interaction with other people.

It was such a nostalgia trip. I believe I last played EQ back in 2000. Being back in Misty Thicket with a 1st level halfling druid. Wow.

I just wanted to say thanks to all of the higher level folks wandering by who helped my character, Toetagger. Thanks for the buffs (especially that first SoW and then a Chloroplast a few levels later!)

It's really wild to be back!

Loving it! But my how times have changed since 1999.

Now I'm married, with two kids. No where near as much time to play as I had before. :)

Haha! At 9 and six, and with only 2 computers in the house... not likely. :)

Hah, I used to joke about this with my kids. I would tell them that if they wanted to talk about something, make an EQ account so we could chat.. My older son played EQ and I am lucky to have a wife who also plays EQ casually.

I actually have been pretty good about finding a balance. Right now I usually am busy until around 9:30pm which is when I can get some general play time in. I also make arrangements with my wife (to take care of the kids etc) on the nights when I raid as they start earlier.. I don't get on as much as I would like but it's still great fun and I would not want to miss out on spending quality family time here in the real world.
