Froglok Priest's Golden Rod

I've been camping this guy for a while. I've not been keeping track but I've killed him between 15 and 20 times now and no Golden Rod yet. If it's any clue, I've already looted (and sold) a Brazier of Elemental Summoning from the Summoner. I have a feeling the Golden Rod shouldn't be rarer than that.
Anyone else have it drop lately, or is it likely broken?

If no one else has seen one drop recently, I'll go ahead and post in bugs (if no one beats me to it)

I tried camping this as well about a week ago, i killed at least 15 priests over several days and never saw a rod. I ended up just buying a rod of glamour.

When I camped for the Brazier last year, I would kill the Priest just on principle and he had the rod probably about 33%-50% of the time.

I camped it a few days ago, 20+ Priest kills, zero rods, at the very least far too rare. Old comments on Alla's suggested it was a very common drop.

Posted a thread (http://www.project1999.org/forums/showthread.php?t=67812) in bugs with a link to this thread. Hopefully some of us Enchanters can get our Rods shortly. I've been enjoying the Quest part of EverQuest a lot more on this server than I ever did on live, so I don't intend to just buy one.

But how long ago was it that you got one?
I'm trying to find out if it is actually rare. Slave's post seems to show that it at least used to be somewhat common a year ago. Either the drop-rate has been severely reduced recently, or it's actually recently bugged.

Question. Can you guys recommend what level I can solo the Priest on my enchanter? I'm trying to only equip stuff that I can obtain myself and have been looking forward to this quest and the Incandescent stuff. I'm 25 now.

However, I daresay it is NOT classic to make us actually look forward to patches ;)

I can solo the room fairly easily at 35. Have died three times from a bad fight/fizzle/resists from the Shin Knight, Tsu Shaman, or Summoner, but out of 20+ times, I can live with that since I'm not there for experience anyway (and even then I've gained a good amount since I started camping the spot).

I've found it's best to rune-up, go invis (keep that in your lineup if you charm Summoner..might get a Brazier), and stand next to the Summoner, Tsu Shaman, or if neither of those are available a Shin knight. Charm one of those higher level mobs, and send it into the pit with the priest and his two shamans. Root all three, and mez the two he's not fighting. If your charm holds, he will make short work of the three in the pit, and hopefully have just enough health for you to finish off with a nuke for a little experience

Otherwise send a tell to my Enchanter, Sebkorses, if I'm on and in the Guk area, I'd be happy to give you a hand when the rod starts dropping.
[Edit] Just noticed the part about only items you can obtain yourself...the offer's open anyway, but if you don't, that's understandable. I'm wanting to quest for my Incandescents and such on my own as well.

as of 15th April 2012 I camped it for about 20 kills and gave up, no rod, about 8 - 9 hours.
