Should I stay in Misty Thicket and start using Harmony to break goblin camps?
Head over to the West Commons?
Where to?

I would strongly recommend leaving the misty thicket and going to one of the commons.

It's a pretty quick walk to EC/WC - but why leave? What's better in the commons at 6th or 7th? (Honestly curious here).

High-level buffs make killing in EC (or nro near the tunnel) the fastest xp you can find at low levels. Slows down eventually when you aren't killing a dozen red cons inbetween return trips for DS refresh, but it's still faster than soloing.

Ahhh. I'm almost to 6. I'll stick around here for a few more kills, and then truck over to EC and hunt for a bind.

At 6 or 7 if I had to solo I'd head to EC for buffs then to WC for pumas and skeletons. Leveling a druid solo really sucks until 14.

blackburrow is fun if you want a real sense of adventure and not just running around buff begging. Gnoll fangs will get you to 11 or 12 pretty fast too and are great coin for a newbie.

If you really want the experience, I agree with the above poster. Blackburrow/Everfrost/WK are chock full of EQ character and good xp quests (gnoll teeth, diseased pelts from Qeynos Hills, bandit sashes from WK).
Once you hit 14, you'll experience the sheer joy of charm soloing with a druid :)

The bandit sashes are absolutely incredible. Tons of exp and cash.

Okay, what's the best way to get from EC/WC to Blackburrow? Without dying repeatedly?

1. Camouflage
2. WC > Kithicor (wait till day time, run along the north wall) > High Pass > East Karana (don't fall off the ledge!) > North karana> West Karana (prepare for LOONG run) > Qeynos Hills (after entering go LEFT till you zone into North Qeynos and get a Bind)
Since you have camo (lev 5?) the only mobs on your way who see invis are undead in Kithicor

Be prepared - depending on your zone times, you're lookin at a 30-40 minute hike - with sow. Probably longer than that. I'll be on later tonight - I can port you to WK at that time if it's more desireable. I'd guarantee it'll be a lot faster if you can at least get a port to NK...

I say run it out... nothing like that classic EQ experience.

Ugh. Fun a few times, not every time. the run across WK is about 8-10 minutes alone.

bah, let him do this for the first time on his own!
I have run across WK at least 15 times with 8 different chars - i refused to level up anywhere but in BlackBurrow ;)
Yeah it gets tiresome when you already have 5 lev 50+ chars, but the satisfaction of actually getting there after 40min run - is gratifying ;)
In my entire EQ live i only asked for port ONCE, and only cause my DE necro died in Tox and I was bound in Qeynos and I tried like 10 times to get to get pass the erudine guards without invis (since it would always fall between casting it in Qeynos, and then traveling all way to Erudine)
whats the purpose of playing original EQ if not for for making it on your own ;)
WoW now has more flight paths than eq has rats all over the world - click-click and you there. you don't even have to discover them anymore, they just added to your flight map as you level up

Just a note - this won't be my first time running across the continent.
Just my first time in...oh... 10 years or so. :)

well, you should definitely do this once in 5 years, specially with a char under lev 20 ;)
Then its an achievement on its own.
When i complete making my own server, i will have a special quest where you have to run across the world on your own before certain level, and if you get teleported at anytime during the quest, it will get reset :D

I love the run. Took a newbie bard from Qeynos to Kelethin just to get my mez spell. Granted I had level 8 selos and a drum, but it was still a blast. So many memories from this awesome game. I really loved breezing through high pass and wondering if old grenix was on the ledge above me. Polished Granite Tomahawk was one of the first truly epic weapons I ever acquired in a video game. I was practically indestructible when that thing procc'ed!
