Hey Guys,

I'm a druid now level 40 and was thinking about moving to specs. Does anyone have any suggestions for doing this?

I tried the specs in OOT at 37. I pulled all 4, only snaring one, ran into cyclops (it was dumb and my bad) but then just ran away and ported out.

On my second try I casted harmony on each one, then snared the specs individually, I was trying to quad on the rocks so I kept gettign in range of their lifetap spell and I ended up going OOM without really being close to killing them.

Do people just keep levi on and pull them over water? Can I avoid their lifetap spell, if I'm always at max range or something? Should I harmony them to make it easier to pull them all, or just grab them all at once?

Any advice would be great.

Thanks,
Mefdinkins

Go to Lake of Ill Omen. Kill Bloodgill Goblins till 53.

just keep snaring them til you get all four, then run around in a circle until they are all gathered, then proceed to aoe. stay levved, you'll take some lifetaps but it's whateva mang.

Sit for med ticks while kiting.

I remember being able to do that on live, but it seems like I've had ALOT more trouble trying to do that on P99 with how the mana updates work. I don't remember losing mana (according to the client) if you stood up between ticks. Is there some trick to dealing with that on this server that I don't know about?

Yeah, sit for the correct tic. There seems to be a phantom tic on P99, but if you get the correct tic then it won't reset back to +1 mana.

run long enough that you get a full 6 seconds to sit and med. should take away any phantom anything.

Quadding specs isn't really that effective until 42/43. My wizard did it early on at 38; then they changed resist behaviors in a patch and it wasn't consistent until 42/43. But as someone else mentioned, Bloodgills. Do them.

Why? They're the same level range as specs (some bloodgills are 38, whereas the highest specs are 37), and have about 500-600 less hp. They are bar-none the best hunting 42-51.

After 51, they're still very good but my opinion is that spirocs are slightly faster (esp if you get 4x provens) until 53.

53+, you can either go directly to raptors or find a few other neat locations. I found that quadding the dark elf guards *inside the second zone of Neriak close to the bridge was highly effective and profitable (It was a lot of fun, too - quadding in a tiny space like that really tests you). I just had to leave every so often to re-jboots/sow.

You'd probably do even better than me because you can root-rot them.

I went through level 40 in a day on my druid. It was before the pet exp nerf, but you can still get quick exp charming in OT. Set up camp along the wall between skyfire and FM zone. Track two blues, either sabertooths or rhino and pull them to wall. snare both charm one, sick on the other and let them duke it out. Before one dies invis(or hide) to break charm, kill both. To finish them off can nuke or fear/dot whichever is more mana effecient for you. Also OT is an easy zone to grab a clarity in!

Thanks for everyone's advice.

I'm currently quadding in OT. It's great experience (I'm 42 now). It's still rocking pretty quickly and I'm comfortable so I think I'll stay a little before I move to try out goblins.

The main reason I wanted to kill Specs is for the money -- I read you could make upwards of 1K per level, and I'm trying to save up for lumi staff, by the time I hit 46. So I figured I'd even take an XP hit if it would pay off financially. I think I'd rather just continue to bang out levels and end up with the staff when I end up with it.

I have two new questions now after reading your advice.

First I hate water. Do I need enduring breath levi on the whole time I farm goblins in LOIO?

Also what level could I begin quadding Seafuries (I'm guessing not till 49 with lumi staff).

Yes, you need EB but you don't really need levi. You can level swimming by afk-ing into a wall overnight.

Uh, even with 200 swimming i'm pretty sure he'd need levi. My wizard quadded them without EB, but Lev was absolutely critical (even though I had 200 swimming).

I'd go down halfway between the two north pillars, target one of the gobs on one side, then turn and look down toward the other gobs - i'd tag one side, immediately click and tag the other with staff of temp flux, swim straight up to the surface. Because of Lev, i'd then be running instead of swimming, then lev-run north toward the shore and start my quad.

That's a wizard's method though, it'll be different for a druid - but i'd think they will still need levi.

I quadded as a druid just fine without Levi. Snared gobbos are way, way slower than swimming with 200 skill.
