Dear Developers: Status of Velious?

Dear nilbog, Rogean, Kanras, and those of you behind the scenes:

Just hoping for, if you are allowed to comment at all on the status of this expansion. How close are we to alpha/beta testing? What content remains to be tested before alpha and beta tests? Is there any active development at all?

These have been questions weighing heavily on the minds of many of the P99ers as I'm sure you're well aware, this is arguably the greatest raiding expansion in the history of MMORPG's I understand you guys want to get it right and that takes time.

Just hoping for a status update, is it in the forseable future?

There's a reason Velious came out a year after Kunark was released :) the raiding content is a MUST!

on topic though.... velious shouldnt take that long to put out if it is being actively worked on.
Wonder if dev's would allow testers with limited gm commands to test on an alternate server. limited stuff like goto, spawn npc commands and summon items.

you could basically run through all the quests and tradeskills shit that way fairly quickly with a few knowledgeable testers

The reason these threads keep popping up is that we have no clear statement from the devs (at least that I have seen) that they are actually working on Velious and intend to release it.

I would guess it comes out right before summer, just as kunark did. Summer time is probably the most populated time for mmos (kiddies off school), so I imagine it would be the ideal time to release it.

I like this idea. I don't know about the rest of you, but when I'm impatiently awaiting the launch of something I'm looking forward to, I devour those developer updates as soon as they are put on the website. Sure I enjoy the finished product, but there's something interesting and engaging about seeing the process it took to get there, and hearing about the challenges they are presented with.

Worst case scenario is that nothing special comes from it. Best case scenario is it inspires more people to click that donate button as they get to see for themselves how immense the task must be and want to keep those devs going. I'd read it...

p99 box wipe. Would be epic. Especially if new releases came out along classic timeline (hole, epics etc)! And it was redone with some extra things like shared bank, targettin bug fix etc! :D This of course would come /at least/ a year after last expansion is released. Whaaat about /custom/ content too?

The only reason why i think TMO members are coming here is because the guild is dying out and not being able to raid with so many members living outside of p99. We all know that when Velious comes out, you guys will get some members back for a few months. Just relax bros.

As long as Nilbog says he's working on it, that's good enough for me, as long as they have some reasonable fraction complete, i.e. 20-30%, not 2-3%.
