(Amelinda) It didn't really alarm me at all. I honestly expected it because I knew who the bulk of our players were. Some were here only to try it instead of blue. Some were here because they wanted to play on a fresh server. Some left due to guard assist not working at first. Some left due to people griefing them off the server. There is a very small subset of people who want to play EQ with PVP enabled. I am still not alarmed.

Currently on a 50 hours coke bender, and I've been saying this for a while, but I'll say it again: Crucify/QvF, and most custom pvp servers with just a few zones in general, were gr8. To make those projects long-term (beyond hosting and all that jazz), though, all you would have to do is make them operate on fixed time periods of a month or two (or "seasons" for you faggot roleplayers), with full wipes and a title or some shit for the winner(s) of last season. Also, each season could have its own theme (Classic season, Kunark season, Velious, etc.- really doesn't matter, it's all custom anyway- and this would just give us a change of scenery, or perhaps affect the loot that drops.)

Anyway, the beauty of the season custom pvp server is that there is still incentive to poopsock (get them phat rare loots like fungi in QvF and shit), but not so much so that there's no point in trying to play catch-up forever. Besides, if it gets to the point where you don't want to play catch-up/getting griefed too hard on a XP++ Gear++ server (you're a twat) you can always wait for the release of the next season. Additionally, there is still incentive for huge-dick ballers like myself to grief the shit players of the box (Practically everyone but me, lethdar, snufz, and fiegi), but not so much so that people will never log on again.

I know this all sounds so great and so simple, but vile always lets me down :(
