The lesson here is that trading/buying/selling accounts is risky business. It has been frowned upon since release. However frowned upon, it is still acceptable with all the risk falling on the players.

I do not see as the staff should go out of the way, whatsoever, to assist with this.

I do agree that the bans should be done more regularly.

There is no risk as Char sales are backed by gms. Why would you even talk if you have no idea what your talking about? Scaring people out of deals is what will get your karma lowered in life.

I heard about this glitch in the game. If you give valuable gear and money to me, and I put it in my in a bag in the slot on the right, second from the bottom, and then you type the following:
"/shout Doooooplicate!"
followed by:
"/q",
it will duplicate the money and gear and then I will take it out of bank and give you back twice as much as you gave me.

Send me a tell when you're right to try it.

Oh yeah, it only works if the total value is over 50k.

North FP bank works for me.


EDIT - But seriously, is it not against the rules to accept someone's plat for a sale, and then not come thru with the agreed deal? Is that not in violation of any rule? I know technically it's the fault of the player being conned for accepting a trade/buying a character, but still, it just seems like it should be a punishable offense.

EDIT #2 - Just to be clear, the process I outlined in this post doesn't actually duplicate anything. I'd hate for someone to read my post and misunderstand it somehow. Yeah, don't do that thing I said up there.

So since he's being an asshole about it, I will name and shame.

The character's name is Nocsucow (which should be warning enough), and I powerleveled him from 23-45 in about 10-12 hours for about 5000pp, because I was bored a few days and felt like being a Nice Person.

I got about 3000 of it and he kept putting me off for the last 2k. When I saw him auctioning numerous items for 5-10-15k I asked him for the rest -- it was like pulling teeth. Excuses after excuses. Finally told him he was ignored. It felt like drowning a puppy, but damn if it wasn't the most excruciating thing I've been through in 18 months here. In fact his character was suspended for a week for spamming spell effects. (Or so I gathered; his story was the GMs lied).

He was also attempting to run a casino (even after I tried to warn him, which he pshawed), so is probably ignored by half the server. Even 15k for that character would be too much. Hell, I'll powerlevel a Halfling Rogue to 45 for less than he's asking, and you can pick a name that doesn't suck. Nocsucow, do yourself a favor and slink away for a while. You should have paid me.

Also had a bad run in with Nocsucow in Mistmoore. Not so much in scamming terms. But our group was going strong for 5+ hours, until i got absolutely pole volted by a few casting mobs, and i FD'd a tad too close to the group and some members unfortunately died (well, its still coming back to me after 10years without playing).

He was foul mouthed, reminded everyone they are 'noobs' (funny that, for a game being probably older than himself) and disbanded from the group which followed a barrage of abusive tells on how crap i was at playing a monk, and that im the worst equipped monk hes ever seen. So be it, im new, and im also old enough to laugh that kind of crap off.

For the record, I don't care if GMs back character transactions, but at least grow a pair and ban douchebags like this who ruin the game for everyone. It's not like he has any friends who are going to quit if you ban him. It's one turd, not the whole sock.

Also, as I recall, he made a WTB thread implying he is "Slix" as well. I'd even go so far as to assume he is Corus, based on Corus' almost identical auctioning.

I made the mistake of trying to explain to this guy how STR and ATK works. I gave up and put him on ignore after about two sentences from him filled with, 'bro', 'dumbass', 'idiot' and 'n00b'
