I've been looking for somthing that is FREE currently to make EQ play in fullscreen in the correct resolution. This actually runs the game in windowed, but looks like fullscreen. Hope this makes the game more enjoyable!:D

Go here and download Shiftwindow - Pretty easy to set up...

Have you tried Alt-O, display options, view fullscreen? I assume it's the same thing but may be worth a try.

Fullscreen freezes for me along with others i've asked so, this is simply a fix for windowed to appear in fullscreen.:cool:

Yeah, fullscreen is a disaster for me in Windows 7. Even when I can get it to look decent, the whole screen will minimize if I click anywhere in the lower-left corner. I will try this out; thanks for the suggestion!

Torros, try changing the WindowedMode=TRUE to FALSE in your EQclient.ini
Restart the game. this should stop it from allowing you to click 'outside' the game

This thread isn't about wineq2.0, but I thought I'd mention it.

Download and install wineq2.0 (http://www.lavishsoft.com/joomla/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=3&Itemid=4). The free version works fine. That will give some additional options for your eqclient.ini

my monitor is native resolution 1920x1080. this is how my video portion of eqclient.ini looks. Change the width/height depending on your monitor.

[VideoMode]
WindowedWidth=1920
WindowedHeight=1080
Width=1920
Height=1080
FullscreenBitsPerPixel=32
FullscreenRefreshRate=0
WinEQWidth=1920
WinEQHeight=1080
WidthWindowed=1920
HeightWindowed=1080That allows for fullscreening a window of eq, increases stability, and I recommend it.

I found this to be the opposite for me. With wineq2.0 going, windowed mode is persistent. Whether you press alt-enter or use fullscreen in the game's options menu, it stays windowed regardless.

Correct.

What I said was that you could 'fullscreen a window of eq.' It is still windowed, but covers 100% of your display.

I know i'm rezzing an old thread here, but how easy is it to use wineq2.0 with the batch file launch that i'm using since my last p99 install?

i actually solved the problem myself, i turned off all advanced lighting and it worked. Not sure which one it is but one of those 3 or 4 options was causing the crash. I can now Alt + Enter all day long and no crash. pras.

I want to run in windowed mode, I just want it to -look- like fullscreen (I enjoy having maps open on my second monitor and that becomes difficult when playing fullscreen)

My options as far as I am aware are shiftwindow, or wineq2. I naturally lean towards wineq cause nil recommends it and it comes with added functionality. It wants to be pointed at an exe file however, not the batch file that most of us have been using to launch the game.
