ok I spent the whole day fixing trillions of problems. I got sick of errors already and I'm about to quit trying. I am finally in the game and now I realize I need to fix my Dual Core problem because the game runs too fast. I think i need to have Windows SP3 if that's my only option then I think I can't play the game, if there are other options please let me know.
I tried setting affinity to 0 in eqgame process but I always get access denied message.

As I recall you need to have Admin rights to set affinity.

I've posted this before but I'm running Xp Pro SP2 and I don't see AFFINITY listed as an option under Start - what works for me is install runfirst.exe in the same path as EQ and put the following in Target:
C:\Path to EQ\EverQuest\RunFirst.exe "eqgame.exe patchme"
with the path to EQ in the Start In field.
You can download RunFirst from http://www.activeplus.com/Products/RunFirst - it's free.
I use this on multiple PCs and it always works.

Right-click the program icon on your desktop or the shortcut on the Start menu for the program you want to run, and then click Properties.
Click the Compatibility tab, and change the compatibility settings for your program.
