"login server down again"

Hiya :)

Wanted to address the recent issues with the "login server" (I put that in quotes because it's not REALLY the login server. It's the blue world server. if it were the login server it would affect all servers)

We are aware it is happening and as of yet are not aware what causes it. I'm sure Rogean will figure it out as soon as he's able to and will fix it at that time.

Should you notice that you can't log into the blue server or that your group mates have zoned and gone linkdead....please notify a staff member as soon as possible. If Rogean and I are already asleep for the night then try to contact Sirken or Enroth. Some of the folks in IRC have ways to contact me outside of game so that is another avenue to try.

This is something that only Rogean can fix when it happens. He has been trying to figure it out for a while. :) He's brilliant so it's only a matter of time.

I don't think this is directly related to the server coming online because I don't recall this problem being this frequent right after start. However I wouldn't be surprised if it was related to a Red99 specific code change. I know there was discussion about changing how some zone mechanics work to prevent people from zone plugging, I wonder if that horks up the world server.

Hey Amelinda, just wanted to say thank you for this post. There is nothing more frustrating than feeling like a problem is going unfixed, and nothing more reassuring than knowing the people in charge are aware and working on it. Just letting us know should reduce a lot of the posts about it, so thanks!

Thank you very much for doing your best. You guys are just doing this to be kind and I am having a great time on P1999. Good thing I am not running an Emu or the thing would go down and I wouldn't be able to figure out how to get it back up. :confused:
