I don't post here much, or reply for that matter, but I do stop in and read. I also play on the blue server for fun in my spare time. Stopped in to read a little this afternoon, sent Timarian a PM about some gear he was / is giving away, and then started at the top of the threads...

Nice pics, seriously. Should put a stop to that. Seems like a pretty easy decision to me.

I play your server most times with my son on my lap, occasionally popping out to look at the forums and wiki. I'm glad I was at work and not at home for that image.

The admins can't put a stop to people using proxies, but you can put a stop to seeing such images by going into your user control panel and turning them off.

Nice pics, seriously. Should put a stop to that.

Look at the post date/time relative to the current date/time, then realize that we don't have robots patrolling the forums 60/60/24/7, but instead real people who can't be F5 heroes.

Thanks for being on top of things Rogean. Is there a way you can flag new accounts so they can't post pictures and gifs until a certain post count or time frame? It's too bad that someone has to see this stuff before it can be removed and the process can't be automated somehow.

Huh.

I feel pretty stupid now.

Unfortunately there are situations a new account may need to legitimately post pictures (Petition forum).. but maybe turning it into a link instead may work. I'll see if there's a vbulletin hack out there for it.

Ditto the "huh".
No clue what your talking about. My assumption is you're telling me it's my fault.

Well I guess it needs to be spelled out.

Your post implied that the posting of these graphical images were allowed by our forum rules, but on the contrary they have been deleted on site. I told you to check the time on the post relative to your current time (usually if you're looking at a post, it was posted recently), and understand that there hasn't yet been a chance for a forum moderator to delete it yet.

I then explained that forum moderators are not able to refresh (F5) the forums all day every day to constantly check new posts for content that needs to be deleted. Instead, the report feature is helpful in that it will send an email to the moderators and the post will be reviewed and deleted if necessary relatively quickly, but not instantaneously.

Thanks Rogean for staying vigilant, but something seriously needs to be done. This has been going on for over a week now I think. I'm getting ready to unbookmark these forums.

And I think simply telling all users to disable pictures is a cop out.

You dont need to disable pictures. Just make it that they are link you have to click.

User CP > Setting and options > Edit options > Thread display options > Uncheck Show images box.

Don't click on links to pics from people with a join date as current month and only 1-5 posts.

If everyone just did this and took matters into their own hands then the GMs, Guides and administrators can get back to more important and pressing issues.

My point is that having every single user do something to fix the problem, when there is only one person causing the problem, is a little off.

It literally takes all 5 seconds to do my recommended tip. Take it or leave it for what its worth. I got sick and tired of seeing these pics and now I don't anymore.

I am not here to argue with you or anyone else about this matter and am just as upset as the next person. But we can take matters into our own hands to stop seeing these pictures.

I am not trying to argue either, just trying to find a way to solve the problem. We are all on the same side.

I'd rather not completely disable the imbedding of images into the forums. That would suck having to click every individual picture.

The person doing it is deliberately trying to get you pissed off at the staff.

I wouldn't give him the satisfaction.

I'm a firm believer in karma and eventually it will catch up to the person doing these acts. If that's the case could end up exactly like one of the pics they post. I honestly hope that never happens to anyone, but karma does have a way of catching up with you. Be fore warned!

Yeah its a blower to have to do it, but when this thing started I did what Sickle suggested. Unfortunately to see a legitimate image I had re-enabled them at my house. Just saw something I really didn't want to anywhere let alone at work. So its back to all images off.

It worked. They win.

The second pic is indescribable. Gay porn, yea, sweet, tolerable, funny even. If I knew how, and the technical know how... I would forward the second picture and the submitter information to his local authorities. Futile, most certainly, but it is that bad.

See ya.

It has come to my attention that the almighty delete all posts button was not deleting visitor messages. I'll have that fixed soon, but in the meanwhile:

DELETE FROM `visitormessage` WHERE (SELECT a.liftdate FROM userban a WHERE a.userid = postuserid) = 0
833 row(s) deleted. ( Query took 0.0382 sec )

Also just want to say that I am sure the staff is working hard to fix this. I am not in any way angry with the staff, they didn't cause this. They are just trying to fix it. Let's all hope they succeed.

Just change the welcome message to "This message board is dedicated to the discussion of classic Everquest and tranny porn"

That way no one can gripe. At work I have all pics disabled in my browser settings. At home I could give a flying F about little boys getting their willies posting dic pics.

Good attempt trying to send me PMs with pics....But I have disabled all and any pictures, sigs, avatars, etc.

GG Troll

Please continue to waste your time and sending me more PMs. I am sure your parents are quite proud of you and may god have mercy on your soul since you obviously dont have one...
