Home Theatre Systems? Denon DHT1312BA or Onkyo 5500?

Wife is looking to buy me for father's day a new one. I'm no audiophile, but I do want a good system that delivers the deep bass and a quality sound.

We think we have narrowed it down to these two since we will be purchasing it locally at either Fry's or Bestbuy. I also might consider the lower end version of the Onkyo one (3500) as well. Not certain if I need the Audyssey Room Correction or not.

Would be open to any advice or feedback.

If i were you, I would drop by at your local Frys and Best Buy to test it out. When I bought my home system I did not buy them as a package but by pieces.

The brands that you mentioned made really good receivers but I'm not so sure about the speakers. I would find a set of Polk Audio speakers instead
