Well, personally I have watched a few D3 streams to try and understand what people were so excited about. I also have watched GW2 beta streams and that game with the pandas. I do it when I don't have access to the game and want information, not so much for the entertainment value.

tried setting this up with xsplit/twitch but once it starts recording my game drops to like 5 frames a second lol

Dannermax - You can click on the video's tab if you miss it live. Everything is recorded there. I didn't even how late it was when I started the stream so it didn't last too long heh.

Bohab - Try adjusting your resolution capture, lower resolution might help your performance.
