Seems like every time someone makes a thread about PvP there is a lot of passive hostility and insults flying around, you're free to do that of course but this is meant as a friendly thread and something I'm considering doing with my circle of friends, no hostility just a simple question :)

1: Does the command exist on p99?

2: Does it make two guilds PvP flagged toward each other?
2a: If not, what does it do?

3: Could you have two guilds say.. (Cops) (And Robbers) who were always at guild war that people could park alts in when they were in the mood to play a char who has a chance of random world pvp?

4: Would you do it if so?

5: What would you name the two warring guilds?

6: (Not a question) I have a feeling it doesn't work how I think it would and everyone would have to flag, but I think it would be cool to have an alt in a guild like that.

Guildwar doesn't work on P99. If you do a search, you can find the old thread where Rogean was seeing if there would be any interest in implementing it.

I did a guildwar on live once. It does make the 2 guilds pvp flagged toward each other. You can still group and talk, but also attack each other. Not sure if there was a lvl limit. I think there is a set duration on the guild war, so you couldn't have 2 guilds perma-warring unless the leaders stayed on top of it.

I don't think I'd participate in one here.

For anyone who never got Kunark that was wondering what "Guild War" was all about, the following is from page 80 of the old manual that came with the Kunark expansion:

It's very common for guilds to declare war on one another. The leader of any guild can declare war on another player guild, or call for a truce. The duration of the war can be set anywhere from 1 to 14 days. During this time, members of the warring guilds challenge one another to duels. The winner gets the loser's coins, plus one item from the loser's inventory. No experience is lost during a guild duel.

Guild leaders declare war as follows:
* The leaders of both guilds arrange a time and location to meet away from the city and guards.
* Eah leader sends the other a "/guildwar <name> <duration>" message.
(Replace the information in brackets with the name of the opposing guild and the duration of the war in days, from 1 to 14.)
*This starts the war. Members of either guild may now attack one another, regardless of their player-killer status.

The war ends when time expires, or if both leaders send a "/guildpeace" message to the opposing guild.

If this were implemented I would hope time would be taken to reconsider the item loot portion of it. I just see it as a big turn off for a lot of people and the /guildwar would either never get used or as currently, never get implemented. Not to mention it gives the opportunity for reckless or just perhaps evil guild leaders to pillage the items from their members if they had an evil plan with another guild.

That's a disappointment, PvP in general would be pretty exciting. Casual obviously, just gear up an alt and run into people here and there, I'm sure its blasphemous to actual PvP :p

But still, too bad.
