You know what the worst is? It's the big lava pool in Lavastorm. No matter how low I put my volume on that, whenever that loud thunderclap happens every minute or two it is earsplitting even on my tinny craptop speakers. UGH!

I think the most awesome sound of the game is the echo of a hundred decaying skeletons laughing as they hit you simultaneously...:p

Max/Critical hit sound. Only happens on humanoid NPCs and players. And all the time on zombies of course. It happens when you're sitting down because NPCs almost always roll really high hits against a sitting character. Naturally it has to be strong enough to actually do damage.
It is probably the most satisfying sound in the game, that. I think it was meant to be like a bone crunching, flesh rending sound. It certainly fits.

No.
The best sound in the game is the sound of a skeleton casting a spell.
I used to have it as my text message sound on my phone. I should restore that...
