Apparently you haven't been around long enough to know that we don't simply spill out information because we get trolled into doing so. We don't feed trolls, and we have plenty of them that will stop at nothing to pour assumptions that even they know is false, only to rally the troll feeders into demanding we divulge information. Been down that road enough times before, and frankly it got tiring extremely fast when Troll #1 claims something and we have to correct them.

Having said that, I'm not confirming or denying any recent activities and it's not to say some accusations may be true, but I will say that what is important is if we receive information regarding any particular situation that needs to be handled, it will be investigated internally, and handled. Just because we don't post a big fat message on the front page saying so doesn't mean nothing happened.

because its none of our business, and the trolls are going to troll irregardless. i hope this situation is a wake up call to the whole server. we got something special here, dont let a couple of no-life internet rejects ruin it for the people that actually enjoy this server. be appreciative of what the staff has done for us

really tho dude, look at the attitude a lot of people take in their interactions with the staff. they act like spoiled ungrateful children always screaming "gimmie gimmie gimmie, omg favoritism omg." i personally, have never had one unpleasant encounter with a gm. i make my petitions as polite and accurate as possible and am humble and respectful of their decisions. some times things have went my way sometimes they havent. but i have always been treated fairly and with respect. would you like to know, why? because thats how i treat them. its not some magic concept... you know, respect.

You're certainly taking the silver lining view and I understand that you'd like everything to be nice and pretty and fine. However, regardless of how you feel and what you post, people have a right to question, to be upset, to feel betrayed or whatever else they may be feeling at the moment. I am not saying they have a right to answers and I doubt they'll ever get them,, but they do have a right to be upset.

Along with your sunny view, here are a couple of other items to digest


Not everyone was playing for free
A fair number of people were getting banned for allegedly RMTing, allegedly two-boxing and allegedly doing a lot of things
The "staff" (by "staff" I do NOT mean everyone on staff) were taking money from these people to get their accounts unbanned. People who may or may not have been guilty of their alleged crimes
People who so wanted to play on this "free" server, they paid to do so
even makes me wonder if people paid to get IP exemptions (just a thought, not saying this is fact)
The "staff" were in fact doing exactly (RMT) what they were banning others (RMT) for doing (and not banning others (RMT) for doing....)
So this alleged staff member and their faster than fast ban hammer (ban first, let the innocent prove their innocence) was a farce.
The server can and probably is still fun for the majority that play. That majority can have fun and still disagree with aspects of what has happened. They can still be upset

That's actually how I found p99. I'd been watching eqclassic for some time with interest after I retired from live for good in 2005ish. I can't recall when I exactly learned of eqclassic, but I'd check in from time to time.

I happened to take a peek at their site in the summer of 2010 and the google search I used to find their site had references to p99 in the top ten results.

I thought "No way is there one up and running... eqclassic has taken forever and is nowhere near release. P99 must really stink..."

I whipped out my old disks, followed the getting-started guide and was playing that night. Sheer joy... sheer joy...

Out of morbid curiosity, I peek at their site from time to time. Slow as always.

Yah eqclassic is the 100% classic project in the works. but there are also other eqemu projects that are where P99 was a few years ago (some in beta right now also), threads about them seem to get closed and locked.

I ultimately hope that the allegations against amelinda are false and if they are proven true, I hope she didn't do anything to imperil eqemu in any way.

It seems kinda messed up to ruin this for everybody just because you wanted a few extra dollars.
