Guild Creation

As I recall in the original game one had to gather a number of people together and petition to create a guild. Sometime in the next hour or so a GM would appear and typically create the guild for you. Is that the mechanic to create a guild on P1999?

I know that the GMs here are busy and few in number so I can imagine it might be a challenge to find one on with time to spare for this while my people and I am online.

Can I do the petition and simply provide the names of the members?
What is the number of people required?
Can I create the petition here on the forum?

With how small the server is it might be a bad idea to make too many guilds. People tend to stick with their guild and not group up with people from other guilds, especially when they have something to lose. Being all tribal and loyal to your guild is good, but maybe not at this point when we -all- need to be helping new players.

Thank you for answering. However after speaking to a GM in game it seems that you are able to petition in game or on the forum for guild creation.

It is just a small guild of RL friends that played back in the summer of 99. We're not looking to dominate the world just yet and we're happy to group with others.
