View Full Version : Should Naggy/Vox be killable by 52+

Rushmore

This is something that I predict will follow the same suit as /ooc, YT, and increased xp on this server! But being that this is a PVP server please remove banish from Naggy/Vox when Kunark comes out! It's 2 more fights guilds can still continue to fight over. And we want to avoid no life poopsockers from keeping 15 mages at level 51 to farm these raid mobs!

Agree or Disagree!

When 80% of the server is 60 who will kill it?

I always wondered why they didnt buff naggy/vox on live. They would stay up for ever once they implemented the 52 or below thing.

I'll probably be staying at 51, in case anyone wants help with Naggy/Vox pickup raids. This is a nice incentive for me to not spend 200+ hours grinding to 60 again. Also, technically a raid of level 60 FD necros could still kill naggy with just their pets.

It's 53+ not 52+. If nagafen banishes level 52's here then it's a huge mistake.

no to this

Why would you empower the level 60 neckbeard raid players even more? This is like the one thing that casuals can get a good shot at, at least until the no-lifers have reached the point where they've leveled up alt toons to 52 for the sole purpose of getting those two targets.

52 is not 52+, but you're right that it would be a mistake if 52 was banished.

I dont see it being a problem till epics are released, then guilds will have to have alt raid forces.

that's why Sony invented numerous char spaces.
Level up one to 60 and roll alts to 50's to kill the dragons.

No to naggy and vox banishing with kunark launch, or no to 52+ being able to kill naggy at any time?

Lazortag

This is how it worked on blue99, and in classic, and ergo how it will work here: after Kunark launches Naggy/Vox won't banish anyone. Then after Tal, Gore and Sev are patched in, Naggy/Vox will banish anyone level 53 or above. Not 52 or above. Level 52's can still engage Naggy/Vox.

edited to be nicer.

Just wanted to know if it was going to change.

Make them banish with kunark release.

We got enough alts to kill them anyway!

***Today's Updates***

*The Hole*

We are pleased to announce the opening of The Hole, a high-level
dungeon on the continent of Odus. The Hole is a complementary addition
to EverQuest, available to all subscribers regardless of their Kunark
status. The files necessary to enter The Hole are available via the
"Optional Patch" button at the bottom of the patch program interface.
The files are quite large (about 9MB total), so if the download is
going slowly, you may want to postpone downloading the files until
later.

*Vox and Nagafen*

Over the past couple of weeks, we've received more and more reports of
these dragons being bested by smaller and smaller groups of higher-
level (high 50s) adventurers. As we've always felt that Dragons should
be special encounters that require a large number of people, we were
left with some choices.

One choice available to us was to increase the power of the dragons to
a level where the level 60 folks would find them challenging. This
would have the disadvantage of forever placing them out-of-reach for
those who did not buy Kunark, and place them further out-of-reach for
those who did, but are just now approaching the levels where they could
go on Dragon raids. Another possible solution was to make the dragons
flee (depop) when engaged by a more powerful group of people. This
would have the undesired effect of allowing some people to deny others
the experience of fighting a dragon.

Instead of raising the bar as mentioned above, we've instead decided
that dragons, or at least these two dragons, should have the magical
ability to pick their own fights. Players of level 53 or above will now
encounter some difficulty when attempting to assist in combat with
these dragons. This should help 40s and low 50-level characters with
their chances to encounter a dragon without worry of getting forced out
by much higher level players. In addition, it also has the added effect
of creating a natural progression from the younger dragons of Antonica
to the elder and more formidable dragons of Kunark.

Bolded part by me. So does this mean until we get The Hole, the dragons won't have their banish ability?

That was like what, 2 months after kunark opened? Not really a big deal.

I did one raid where 52+ could attack Nagafen on RZ. I think the highest in attendence was a 58-60 necromancer (Perplexer (http://ralloszek.stephans.org/rz/playerhistory.php?player_name=Perplexer)).

It was a joke.

You'll be 51 & 52 for quite some time and probably have some Kunark loots, should be very easy. With this in mind, make PvP a CLASSIC 4 levels and you'll have a better server.

No.

^ This guy continues to know what he's talking about actually.

Rushmore asks, "Who will kill it?"

I don't know maybe alts like every other Kunark server / live?

Dullah
08-14-2012, 12:04 PM
Considering we've killed Naggy with 12 legitimately, and I'm almost certain given the right people we could do it with about 8 or 9, the issue isn't relevant.

Yes, naggy and vox will be very easy for 2 months. It should make them more viable for guilds other than Nihilum. Moar pvpz bros.

Dullah

There was 1 wipe. Be honest for once in your life. Our tank died in under 8 seconds between CHs, probably from multiple ripostes. It happens.

That's (roughly) how it was on blue99, so the answer is: probably.
