CLASSIC!

I see that word around a lot.

My question as in the title is where the line is drawn for what is classic and why.

Why are we mimic'ing the company that systematically ran EQ in the ground? Why copy their mistakes? Lets toss in this unbalanced item that never got nerfed.

Why? Cause Sony did it!

Yet lets fix their OoT's oddball oversight without a care?

Why only allow 50% of the cultural armor quests in the game?

Yeah, well im sure most of my responses if any will be "not classic", or "you only complain about un-nerf'ed items, cause you weren't around to pick any up".

Why does this guy ask this quest? Cause hes bored at work, duh!

Just consider the domino effect the moment elements of the game are changed from their original intentions.

Are rangers literally useless for the duration of this server? Yes. Buff them? Talk about opening pandora's box.

Once you leave The Vision (tm), anything is worthy of interpretation. One person's interpretation won't match anothers, and you'll piss someone off. By sticking to The Vision (tm), everyone at least knows what to expect when they log on. At least until they get to variance, but I'll leave topic for a more appropriate thread (http://www.project1999.org/forums/showthread.php?t=77198).

Yeah, i understand these points, but there are things that are "Kunark" level, but not released because a higher focus on releasing the next expac.

Are you arguing that quests/crafts/items should be in game now, that are in game by the time Velious ends?

That hybrid/class penalties should be done away with from Day 0?

Certain items should never be in Egg-Shaped Pumice, CoS, Donal's BP in original form?

If you have specific bugs that need correction, then the bug forum is the correct place to discuss those topics.

You really need to think of this project as a long on going beta test, with corrections being applied as we go along.

Not at the start I don't think. Yeah Rangers will be pretty much useless on the game forever. I have one but hate them in a group as a healer

A beta test? Thats what my question was in the end. Why are we acting like this is the first time? I'm pretty sure none of this is new like a beta to us.

One thing i mentioned was the cultural. Only half was released. I really doubt some developer was thinking maybe we should only allow dwarves to make the cultural for all the small races and then later allow other races to their own.

There are several races, whos cultural when they come in game, they have stats on par or weaker than cultural released first and that only use items that drop in classic areas.

If you can provide evidence that the cultural armor should be implemented during this particular time period that the server is currently existing, then they will implement it. Otherwise, it will come later.

The reason this is like a beta test, is because Sony EQ is no where close to what people want to play as classic. The new progression servers are completely non-classic in the sense of when a lot of us started playing in 1999/2000. The server as it stands now is rebuilding classic EQ/Kunark/Velious from the ground up. The timeline hasn't been perfect and certain items/quests are still in need of correction. However, once this server finishes Velious, I think the plan is, and most of us would probably like to see a new server that has an accurate time line with era appropriate corrections that we have learned and fixed from this server.
