16 percent haste, 4 ac. 5 percent less haste than an fbss, in exchange for 4 ac.

Worse than the fbss, clearly, but by how large a margin?

What should the Swirlspine Belt sell for? I can't recall the last time I even saw one

Well, the 4ac vs the haste is no comparison imo. I haven't seen one either...I would guess maybe around 3k-ish.

It is worse than FBSS by a margin of 5% or 25% depending on how you want to look at it

Speed Kills. Simple as that. You can never be fast enough.

Last time I saw one of these for sale it was before Kunark and if I remember right, it was about half the price of FBSS. I'd say 3k would be a fair price.

I saw one in the Tunnel about a week ago. I am thinking it was 3500 plat. Maybe wrong?

They are a real pita to get though, arent they? I'd love to farm these for my twink army, but the seahorses are like totally MR and hard to single.

Honestly, I picked up a Sash of the Dragonborn for my twink for 9k. 3% haste more than FBSS and 2AC, and at the time FBSS prices were crashing and the Sash was the same price as FBSS's were the month before. I think I'd still recommend Sash over FBSS for the price difference considering the next best haste is on 30k+ items (although the extra stats of SBC and RBG justify the extra expense). But, as already stated, speed > stats.

I spent a good amount of time at the Phinny camp back on live, and I never saw a belt drop. You would think for a camp that hard to get to and pull, the belt would be far better than the FBSS which is comparatively simply to get.

I would expect swirlspine belts to be hugely infrequent. Pulling phin solo has been elevated to an art form, and it wouldn't shock me if it's the same seahorses living the entire time between patches.
