I am not sure how helpful this is going to be but I am in development of reviving the EQ Atlas into one single application. I am stripping all of those old maps from the mirrored site. I am amare that someone is working on EQ Atlas 2.0 in php and all that but I like having it all there instantaneously rather than relying on multiple pages. It is being developed in flash. Data migration is a big pain but I am about 30% done so far. I have not added the Odus continent yet but I should be done by next week. I am always open to constructive feedback.
(Currenly, only maps below Halas work. Click again if it grays out to go back to the main selection. If the map does not display, it means I haven't implemented that content yet.)
P99 Atlas (http://www.eqc.xonos.net/proj/P99.html)
.:Future Updates:.
Printing Support
Odus Continent
Zone Description/Misc. Information
Muti-Floor Zone Support
Allakhazam Links (Items, Mobs, Info.)
P99 specific information
(I don't have the art/creation credits of the maps in yet. Once I have it all implemented, I'll give credit to the original artists that I took and modified.)

I approve of this project.
Finish it. And keep it updated.

Front page looks great, but none of the zones does anything when I click them. Just grays out the main page.
I know you said you were only about 30% done, so maybe I just haven't clicked on the correct non-Odus zones yet?

Awesome. Thank you for putting forth the time and effort for this. Looking forward to seeing what you do with it.
One thing I'd love to see is a printable 1 page zone connection map, kind of like the one you have on your main page. There used to be one available someplace back in the day, but I haven't seen any in the archives here, although I could be missing something.

Right now, the only maps available are a handful of zones below Halas. Faydwer isn't ready yet. I just hope I can make something that is actually user friendly. I'll update it regularly. I also am going to release the source file(s) for any flash devs out there that want to delve into it when I am done.

(sorry for mac/html 5.0 lovers)
Why? OS X has Flash support
Now, iPad users might be in a huff, though :D Doubt there are a ton of them here, at any rate.

Oh I meant Iphone/Ipad support. However, in Flash CS5 (I have CS4) there will be ipad/iphone support so we might be able to do something about that hehe.

Got it working now - was just clicking on unimplemented stuff before. Outstanding!!

Not bad - do you plan on implementing the notes at each number? Maybe as a text box that pops up when you hover over the number?
Edit: Nevermind I see them on some zones. But the idea of having them appear when you hover the number might be cleaner. And it's yet another thing you can take advantage of with flash rather than just dumping in flat text that the user has to scroll to read.

Except that Apple has so far cock-blocked attempts for people to submit apps written with a Flash compiler. At least as far as I know Adobe has been stopped.
Of course, that doesn't stop you from putting this up for jailbreakers if you go that route.

Super nice!
Love the way the three guk maps spin out towards me when I click on them!
One thing of note is that on the silversandbox site where these maps are also available, it includes what all the numbers on the maps stand for.
In some case they are kinda good to know. Let's face it, if you still need the map for these old zones, then you probably need to know what's where on the map as well.

Most of the zones I have done so far have that information in blatant text that you can copy/paste. Not all of the information has been implemented yet. This will most certainly be available and I will change what needs to be changed to fit P99 needs.

You do have a point. The reason why I added the text like that is for copy/pasting but I don't think that is necessary considering the majority of players go there for information strictly. I am still in the planning stages so what we could do is make a pop up over your mouse when you scroll over the maps individually that will explain what the numbers represent. My main issue with this was space and how I could include all of the data + maps simultaneously so this is a good idea. I was thinking just now of a comic book style dialog box that would hover above the map with the information. Hrmmm..! :)

That's exactly what I was thinking. You could store the text data in XML for ease of editing in the future if you want to make tweaks or changes. That would definitely be nice to have the text show right next to the number as a fly-out instead of having to scroll down or over.

XML is a great way to store dynamic data however I am unsure how to link all of this together with XML file(s). I recently started using actionscript 3 so I have a bit to learn still.

Thank you. This is outstanding. Great work.
One minor thing. On some of the maps the notes can be hard to read when they are written over the darker portions of the background. Qeynos is an example. Like I said; very minor.

Yeah, wish I could help but I only know enough flash to dink around with video players. Anyway, cool project, I look forward to using this instead of the oldschool atlas.

This will be fixed once I get all of the maps in. I will make easily visible text boxes.

Adobe is a pos company with pos products, that all have huge security vulnerabilities. Opening up iphone support for flash would just bring in 8 million people complaining that their iphone doesn't work(malware).
Look at adobe reader and the plethora of viruses that people get all the time through that. And I don't think adobe has yet to fix the security vulnerabilities with their reader/acrobat products.
But great map, keep up the good work.

This thing ROCKS! Love the loading bar :)
Can we get this put in the Library at some point? I hate seeing these things get pushed out of the way by other threads and lost. The Library is the best spot to have it.

Just out of curiosity. Was this written completely in AS 3.0 or did you use the the stage in Flash Pro?

Feel free to check out this thread, and steal my GIF and JPG collection. I got aggravated searching for old and down map sites, so I decided to create an archive of my own. There are a lot of lost EQ Stratics maps on there, too.
