So I've been saving up as much platinum as i can lately and i finally have a nest egg. How much should i expect to spend to get the trade skills required to the skill necessary to safely do the combines? If it matters, I'm a 54 enchanter.

Trying to get some pre work done so i can hit the ground running in Velious.

Thanks

How much is your nest egg at 54 out of curiosity?

I'm roughly somewhere between 16 & 18k. Most of which has come in the last 3 levels. Probably nowhere near enough i know.

You really can't get tailoring high enough yet, without some of the velious recipes. Highest trivial for tailoring is 210ish, though most people stop at 158 when Wu's goes trivial and it gets really insane to farm the stuff to lvl it higher. Pottery will be a couple hundred plat to 122 which is high enough, baking maybe 100pp. Fletching I don't remember for sure, but I'd be surprised if its more than 1k to 170ish where you want to be. Brewing maybe 200pp to 170ish. Jewelery to 170 is normally 5k or so, but I think as an enchanter, if you enchant your metal, you may actually make a profit on it.

Thanks Splorf.

If i interpret that thread correctly it seems only the 7th will be in p99? Little bit of a bummer but if it didn't come out till Luclin then oh well.

I velious ready character, I'm about 10k deep, and not an enchanter for what its worth. I also maxed out my skills up to the 8th shawl level, because until this post I didn't know it only went to shawl 7. I also didn't have enough time to get onto WU armor, literally they took it the day out I was WU ready. I think all the extra money I dumped into smithing, a bit of jewlcraft and fetching COULD be equivalent to what you will need in costs to max tailoring when it comes time.

So maybe 10k and a lot of time is all you need.

I just did fletching last week in NFP. I think it cost me like 80pp. It only gets really expensive those last few when you use silver arrowheads. Also, it took me like 2 hrs to go from 0-168 or whatever.

A few questions for those that are shawl 7 ready:

Question 1. Are the these trade skill requirements posted on the wiki accurate?

Tradeskill Requirements for Shawl 7:

Brewing: 168
Fishing: no-fail
Fletching: 168
Jewelcraft: 162
Pottery: 162
Tailoring: 162

Question 2. Any strategies for skilling up Tailoring right now in the aftermath of the removal of Wu's?

Question 3. Is there anything else to do besides skill up to these requirements that would assist in being fully shawl 7 ready?

Thanks for your comments and help ahead of time.

I don't believe there are any valid strategies for skilling Tailoring above like 88 until Velious anymore.

Does Wu's get put back in?

No, there is no requirements for shawl, you can do this quest with a skill of 1 (although you might fail alot), also there is no skilllvl that will guarantee you not to fail.
What you listed are the trivial of the combines from shawl 7. They wont guarantee you not to fail, but only that you cant skillup anymore on those past the skill you listed. Usually fail rate at the trivial is somewhere around 5-8%

Also to get shawl 7 you will required to get shawl 1-6, which will require different or sometimes higher skills

You will definitely need a nose picking skill of over 164

Question 2. Any strategies for skilling up Tailoring right now in the aftermath of the removal of Wu's?

The only way past 115 is the fleeting quiver atm, which is not really an option to skill up.

Unless you can do cultural combines you'll have to wait on velious to skill up

Question 3. Is there anything else to do besides skill up to these requirements that would assist in being fully shawl 7 ready?

calm down, velious is far far away
