Question about Multiple Accounts?

Had a quick question here; I realize multi boxing, out of the question, no ands ifs or buts, permaban if caught, don't even think about it, don't even talk about it. I understand.

But is it allowed to have two accounts; to hop on one, buff one of your characters, and then log the buffing account out?

I'm already leaning towards no due to the whole IP thing, as well as the dependency on other people being as server numbers are important and so on and so forth.

Just wanted to check to be sure.

The ONLY way to make that ok is if there are actually 2 individual people playing, one on each account. If you log in to buff yourself thats the textbook definition of boxxing.

I always thought 2-boxing meant you were actually playing (like grinding or holding a camp) with two characters at the same time...

Like the OP, I also wouldn't have immediately assumed that it included briefly using a second account for buffing, transferring, etc.

Thankfully I learned the P1999 definition of 2-boxing before I got myself in [too much] trouble.

Never played a toon anywhere named "Droogs". I Was Droog on Rodcet Nife before merging with Quellious where I eventually became Drogun. I think I rolled a Droog on EQ2 (Blackburrow server?), but I wouldnt have played him much in that short time.

Even if you are allowed to have two of your own accounts (you probably can I'm not sure). I dont think there's any situation ever where you would be allowed to log in on both at the same time. And using the 2nd account to aid your character is quite obviously 2 boxing. That's about as clear as 2 boxing can get. So you answered your question before you even asked it.
