Is fishing broken?

I can't equip fishing grubs in my ammo slot, and when I fish the grubs don't go away. I'm gaining skills, but so far have not caught any boots or anything.

EDIT: Oh, there. I forgot that you don't lose bait on every cast :P

Hmm. Fishing skill of 20 and I still haven't caught any boots or sandals, or anything. Maybe it is broken?

No. Even the "nice" ones like this (http://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=24727) break at the same frequency. This was "fixed" by adding a quest for an item that summons infinite fishing poles, but that won't be on P99 (PoP).

I remember Fishing working properly in the past. If it is broken now, something went wrong.

I fish up boots and daggers all the time, my fishing ability is at about 100-115 I beleive.

Definitely needs to be looked at. Stuff like this needs to be fixed before even speaking about Velious.

I am a fellow who enjoys nothing more than to sit at the docks with an ale at hand and plentiful bait for several hours of peaceful fishing... Watching as ships enter the port unloading and loading several passengers each with different business. If you're lucky... A nearby merchant may purchase the old boots off of you for a few coin!

You are awesome and I wish there were more players like yourself. My memory of classic was few min/maxers and lots of roleplayers/good peoples. WTB Classic EQ with classic players.

Fishing 52 - 30+ casts and no fish. Odd. Also I didn't think magic poles broke in the original game - maybe I am wrong.

If fishing had a rare chance of pulling up a cloak of flames or fungi tunic let's say, the docks would be lined with fisherman. I always wished there would be random sunken treasure to find at the bottem of the water.

My fishing is maxed at 200, and I still get junk more often than rare fish when I cast away. Just bring a pole anytime you have to go to TD or OOT, and you will max fishing in no time.
