View Full Version : Unable to log in, no error message.

Hi,
I am currently unable to log in to the server on my Desktop PC. After selecting the server the client waits about 5 seconds then dumps me back to the login screen, with no message.
No logs are updated.
I am able to log in to this account on a laptop.
I have reinstalled Everquest entirely, with no effect.
Any ideas?

Aha, dbg.txt is updating in the Logs directory. It seems to be stopping at:

I have tried using one CPU in the Eqemu launcher, WinEQ and changing the Shortcut target to: "C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /C Start /affinity 1 C:\Progra~2\Sony\EverQuest\eqgame.exe patchme", as suggested in similar threads. Still the same problem.

Just installed Windows entirely from scratch with a new Titanium install, same problem. It was working fine beforehand.... Very odd.

Did you re-install directx 9.0c? Being dropped to desktop is normally an issue with the missing dx_30.dll file.

I'll try it now, thanks. However, I'm not being dropped to Desktop, just back to the Login screen.

Just installed the 9.0c standalone. Same problem.
Also did ping traces from my computer to the login server address and the p1999 server address, no problems there.

as of this morning I am getting a server timeout message
also unable to get to the server select screen...
all was fine yesterday so not touching my system (glad it is still running after 12 years)

Problem solved itself within 60 minutes, maybe some hiccup with the ISP?

I've now tried with a fresh Windows 7 install, with an Nvidia card instead of the ATI and with a different NIC. Running out of options...
Oddly, Wireshark shows a flurry of malformed IPv4 packets being sent out when I attempt to log in.

Same problem except I can reach the char select, as well as enter the world on certain characters. Any character in East Commonlands will not load up after char select, it boots me back to login screen after 5 or so minutes.

This is aweful, just had this problem after porting up to Plane of Hate. It happens randomly, I'll zone into a certain zone and crash while zoning...and then the server wont let me past char select screen.
