Hey, reading patch notes on Alla from 1999 - the release of Kunark and i found this.

*Rogue Enhancements*
Rogues received several enhancements as part of this patch:
- The chance to score a critical hit with a throwing weapon has been
increased significantly.
- When throwing a weapon from behind the NPC in question, a rogue now
has a chance to score a "Deadly Strike", for enhanced damage above and
beyond that of a critical hit.
- A new rogue-specific ability has been added to the "Hide" skill. It
is called "Evade". This skill has the effect of lowering the amount
that the targeted NPC hates the rogue, and has the potential of making
the engaged NPC switch to another target (preferably a tank) within the
rogue's group. It is essentially a "reverse taunt". This ability helps
mitigate the negative effects of the rogue's exceedingly high damage-
output potential. It also will in-turn help the rogue do even more
damage as the NPC is much more likely to expose its back. It is engaged
by targeting the NPC you wish to "Evade" and pressing the "Hide"
button. As a note, you must not be in combat mode in order to use this
ability.

April 2000 was Kunark so we got this a couple months before Kunark. I'd love to see the crits implemented for rogues. I have ~150 or so skill in throwing, and still have yet to received even 1 crit.
And we always had a chance to get a crit I believe, but this patched just greatly increased that chance. crits/deadly strike would be awesome to have implemented.

From what I've heard, ranged crits aren't working at all. That's why we have so few Rangers on p99.
Are throwing crits working? I would assume if crits for bows are not working that certainly they wouldn't be working for throwing weapons, and so we can forget about any changes to crit chance on throws.
Anyone have confirmation on this?

I posted about this a while back.
The crits should have been in the game since launch. It's "deadly strike" that was added with the above patch and an increased chance to perform a critical ranged attack.

Bow crits are working, just that most people on this server don't have a clue about rangers.

Any headway made on this? Is it even possible to implement? Anything we can do as a community to further help this getting implemented (research any unknowns about this?)?

granted im lvl 11 and started here yesterday, i would be stoked to see this working also!

There isn't much to research as far as whether or not it should be in the game.
They absolutely should be in the game. Deadly Strike should then be added around the time that PoSky is opened.
I meant #'s wise. I am not sure if this isn't a priority or if it's hard/impossible to do, or what? just asking if there is anything we can do minus the coding.
And it'd be pointless for them to do all the work to remove evade at this point in the game just to add it a month later lol.

I haven't played the ROG in a while, but was wondering now we past the Kunark intro.... Whether ROGs are seeing their--- Deadly Strike .

Where are you getting that evade was removed? Did you just make this up?
