So why do people around here hate Dwarves?

That's likely the race I was going to roll my Paladin alt with, but having a search around the forums, seems like a lot of people around here hate Dwarves. Any particular reason why? I mean they have good stats/racial bonuses for just about any class, and awesome beards...

And conversely, everyone seems to love halflings, which I don't get at all. They're ugly, smelly, consume food/drink twice as fast and don't wear shoes. If any race should be hated, it's halfling/hobbits.

Halflings are far superior, sexier, xp bonus. Good area to lvl up in misty.

Dwarfs are just ugly imo. They get no play or groups... ya dig?

Play what you want, but you will be hated on at some point or another, but if you can take the sarcasm or bs thrown at you then make a dwarf...

That pretty much goes with every race/class combo though, someone always got somethin to say on the grind to 60 regardless wether it be joking or not about your race/class combo. Just all opinions.

2. Erudite can use Shield of the Stalwart Seas, plus their men are manly enough to wear skirts without being self-conscious about it.
3. Human male gets a couple of fantastic 'stache choices, females look almost sexy enough to be Half-Elfs.

Yeah, it doesn't pay to be a Hybrid. But few people realize that a Human Monk has a 20% XP penality, and Iksar has 44%. Iksar Necro 32%. And they seem to survive.

Is it the experience penalty? I can't imagine it being anything else. Hybrids are versatile, and versatility/flexibility is huge in this game.

I think most Hybrids made up a lot with AA's in later expansions. Ranger gets Panic Animal in Velious. So they can fear kite. Paladins where good as pullers and Tanks in Velious. And the XP penality will drop after 6 months into Velious maybe??

Rangers have pretty much the same DPS as a Warrior. Problem is they don't do well getting hit. I play mine off an on. I think there are the most versitile Melee class in the game. But you have to be cat and mouse to play one solo. Paladins just don't have much DPS sad to say in this game. SK's make better pullers in Kunark. Evens out in Velious.

I had both a Bard and a Beastlord during PoP on live. Both were mediocre DPS before I started filling in AA's. Once I got the double attack, crit, and clickie attack AA's (think it was Savage BLow for Beastlords, Sword Dance for Bards or something), both of them had stupidly high DPS.

dwarves rule and are by far the superior jumping race, dat roll alone blows every other race out of the water.

I unfortunately do not play a dwarf since they can't be necromancers, but I do recognize their superiority as a race.

Dwarves are the best race statistically speaking for a paladin. People who don't appreciate the model might as well be speaking another language. Elves are the sissy race of everquest.
