hello:

I have been day drinking and got the urge to log into p1999. I've played before but when I try to log in it tells me my spell file is outdated. can anyone help me fix this?

my "sony" folder is located in program files (X86)

what the heck. I try to extract that to my everquest folder and it tells me access is denied??@?? wtf!!

create a new folder on your desktop, name it "EQStuff"

download the spellfile from the link posted above, save it to your desktop.

Locate the new icon on your desktop, and drag it into "EQStuff"

Open "EQStuff"

Locate the icon you dragged there.

Right click icon and select "extract files here" (you will see a few files and a folder called resources).

Minimize "EQStuff" and open your "EverQuest" folder.

Now copy everything except "Resources" from "EQStuff" and paste into "EverQuest" (yes to any overwrite or copy and replace)

inside "Everquest" there's also a folder called "Resources". grab the files at "EQStuff>Resources" and copy them into "Everquest>Resources".



and thats it, there are easier faster ways, but this way you can actually see what you are doing and wont have to worry about what goes where.

Move sony folder out of Programfilex86 or whatever it is, otherwise you will have issues with permission.
If anything move it into the new "eq stuff" folder on desktop.

Just in case he's serious: Do a clean install, just do that...assuming you've logged in okay before these drunken capers - you'll be able to manage it from there no problem :)
