The fun of SWG is how open it is. The downsides I've experienced so far is it can be a bit monotonous grinding (but what game isn't), and at times when you're in the wilderness grinding it feels a bit like a solo game. I wish there was open world PVP with no flags and that you could destroy people's shit but o well. Also needs jedis implemented!

the worlds are huge and the terrain varies tremendously. this is a huge perk for because EQ, while it seemed big when i was a kid, seems so damn small now. I really hate zones, open world is a feature I hope to god will be in eq next should that game be any good.

Even if me and 4 other guys are rifleman, it is very unlikely we are the same build. You can really make your character unique, there is no min/maxing (no best build) because there is so much customization. Also you aren't locked into a certain class, you can always forget what you've learned and do something else.

Still cant speak for the pvp, after getting slaughtered 3 times I've been blueing it up. I love being able to wonder 5 to 6 clicks from any town, set up a camp and hunt. I can gather resources and craft at my camp during downtime or grind on some other skills such as singing/dancing.

Economy is completely player driven, most items are player made.Player towns is a huge +++++++ The Idea of creating a self sustaining guild completele with is own town really excites me. The player town we live in today has everything outside a shuttle port (kinda like a boat) which is coming soon. Here is an image of a player town. the homes and other things are made by players as well as plotting and placing the buildings.

You only need gloves, head, chest and boots to get full armor protection.

They call it a "mini"

kinetic is the armor u usually want for pve

pay around 50k for a mini set, a 37k condition one

t21 not good for grinding without significant skills to make its speed faster and it needs to be spliced. i was reading some numbers it looks like the spray stick and laser rifle are actually better for xp/min. unless the nerds at swg forums are wrong. also ive read into the java ion rifle being better for pvp in most cases over the T21. im not saying the t21 doesnt almost blow someones head off but it takes forever to shoot.

Bought the game since was so tempting to get a free game to throw to my bud who just bought a new comp

I love this type of game, fuck the stupid quest treadmills that weve done a million times, when i beta'd SWTOR, all i wanted to do was arenas, same with Rift.

Seems alot of the fun games these days comin out from the indie devs

Still, its alot of fun. Played that and was like why the fuck am i grinding to 60 when i know theres not gonna be much pvp anyway? That each time i put in some pvp time, im going to have to put up with a big PVE grind to recuperate my PVP deaths.

I think it looks pretty cool... could be a great game to play between quad kiting my wiz... but deleting my character to get a game to fill in the time between my character meditating might not be the best thing to do.

The sad thing is that Rallos looked like a match of Forge most of the time on classic, in Queynos hills, Blackburrow, Everfrost, Gfay, Crushbone, Nro, East/West commons, Highpass, That dwarf town / Tower with library in velious, PVP.

You had to be there to know how it was and unfortunatly it seems the devs of Red99 werent there. So their idea of Classic isnt an accurate one, if were talking about a classic Rallos experience.

They are going to patch BGs, went and checked on their forums

Thats what killed WoW for me, we had like 25 maps where we could have fun pvp and devs fuck it up by herding everyone into 3 maps. Got bored in 2 weeks.

I dont play a MMO to read a book or watch a 45h DVD where everyone can save the universe. If i want to read a good book ill open a good book.

Writing and story has to be stellar for me to bother with the story, suffice for me the actual game and sandbox is entertaining enough for me to stick around.

Only MMO i can think of where i didnt click off the dialogue was the secret world

I dont know what people find out of the ordinary in SWTOR, maybe i missed a storyline that was better than others, cant even remember the class i played but dialogue was meh, bomb there, disarm it etc..

starting out is hideiousley awful , they make you do a tutorial which i cant stand and they throw you in sandbox

you cant just run out of town and kill stuff there is nothing but high level shit , you have to go find some mission terminal and run in a direction for 20 mins to find the targets that chain incapacitate you

i dont yet know how to un stick my combat system so i can hit menu items other then control H to free mouse up , and i basically just punch stuff then die

people rap about how bad eq was but when you login its very clear how you walk outside and can see what level stuff is and begin killing , i think ive played for 2 hours and accomplished pretty much nothing

tomato, SWG is not that hard to figure out. Anarchy Online trumps SWG on the learning curve by a long shot. Just do some research like I'm sure you did for EQ back in the day and you'll be alright.

i been trying to do a mission , says destroy rebel outpost , i go there , theres 1 criminal and 1 power generator , if i attack the criminal i lose , if i attack the power generator i get it to half hp and 5 criminals spawn and gib me

explain to me how i am retarded , i cant even figure out how to DELETE the mission i got since i cant find the terminal again

and im sorry to say sam when you start eve you start next to an asteroid with a npc to fight and bam you are playing

theres no other stations in system and nothing in your overview and you can do missions in that system

this is like , oh heres a massive town with tons of shit , you can learn all these abilities but you have no weapons or anything and cant use anything

was just the mission i picked , i found a regular mission terminal and monsters are easy

apparently what i picked was not possible to win , already harvesting hides and getting exp from dif stuff , trained a few things and doing fine

other mission was hilarious , dps something and 5 squid people with guns just blow you up

Before battlegrounds, WoW had something like 25 maps to pvp on. Not all of them were used, but Silverpine, crossroads, Ashenvale, thousand needles, Stranglethorne vale, etc etc
were all regular pvp hotspots.

They turn around and bottleneck everyone in... 3 maps. Play the same map layouts, over and over and over again. Fun? For a week, then i unsubbed.

No more raids on towns, no more Tarren mills 100vs100 insanity where all levels were mingled.

Im playing EQ pvp out of nostalgia, its still allrite but should have been like rallos.

And that time for me might be about to end, its my EQ red99 apocalypse, if a GM doesnt rez me by december 21st, i will stop playing Red99 (lost 6 levels because nephew broke his arm and mom came to my house hysterical like WE GO TO HOSPITAL NOW LALALALA forgot to close EQ) at least until velious is patched and i doubt ill play even then

I played the emerald dream a while back on the horde side and was disappointed at how weak the battleground pvp was. I was playing on the warsong gulch server where it was like 12x exp and had the higher population. Everyone was euro time and you had to wait like 15-20 minutes for a BG to start.

Maybe the new server that opened in August has a higher population now and maybe the world pvp is worth something. As for BGs, it works a lot better if you have a lot of servers feeding into cross realm BGs.

the tier 2 and 2.5 guilds were basically nihilum tho so expect the gay level to be astronomical if you want to play. Even the people in the guild i was in took it too serious and i ended up leaving because of it

When someone can target you and just click a hotkey a couple times to kill you due to gear imbalance skill has little to do with it. WoW is probably worse than any other game I have played for having overpowered gear.

A geared shadow priest should be able to mind blast and melt your face before a blue gear of any class can get through their bubble shield.
