Out of the current playerbase who would support YT being added next patch?

This is a VERY simple thing to add in the game with the next patch. If you are for it say yes, If you are not for it please explain why. I know this has been done a bunch of times by others (including myself) but if we keep this civil and on-topic maybe we can get rogean or nilbog to respond.

YT with locations announced encourages PvP and can be used to combat bind camping because people will see where and by who is killing their pal over and over again and go help them out.

I would take yellow text with or without locations. As long as its yellow text announcing pvp kills.

Whether it increases population or not the votes show we want it and it will be more fun for us.

Pros:

It gives people credit for kills without having to be obnoxious over /ooc.

It cuts down on the screenshot or it didn't happen or any other bs chat that happens over /ooc.

It gives an immediate indicator to where PvP is happening so others can join in if they want. With a low population this is good news.

Someone bind camping someone gets caught and friends of the camped can help out.

Cuts down on PvE training because believe it or not that Yellow Text will be a big motivator to do actual PvP.

Any kind of incentive added to kill someone without rewarding the PvPer with items/points/gear/etc is a great implementation in my opinion. I also think it is a good penalty to players being killed that doesn't set them back PvE wise.

Cons:

It gives your location (I actually think this is a pro but I understand people being against it)

It embarrasses people that get killed

Unfortunately I can't agree that it being more fun for the people who play here is good enough. People have been prancing about saying that YT is the end all solution for the problems of the servers population issues. That's not what it is yet that is how it has been presented and the advocates for it have been real pricks about it.

The staff seems to have a great disdain for the community, especially those of us who have opinions about what might be more enjoyable on the server. I can not expect that the staff is going to be forced into making a decision under false pretenses and then not use it as an excuse to disregard our input across the board because what we said it would do did not happen.

Not that it's worth discussing, as we seem to be in time out because people that used to play here are dickheads. I really expect that red99 is going to see 0 development in the future. If we can't enjoy it for what it is now, then we never will. Continuing to plead with the staff just to be ignored isn't going to help the morale of the player base.

I don't see any of those things in this thread. My post was not demanding or condescending of the staff I just want to gauge the CURRENT playerbase's opinion on yellow text and show the staff how many people are for it!

I don't know of anyone saying that YT is going to bring a huge influx of players. I also don't say that it is going to "fix" the server as it currently is because it isn't broken. At a time this summer when only 10 people were on at a time some people threw that idea around because they were looking for something and anything to help. This was just brought up as an improvement to make the server more fun for us playing.

I am for yellow text on a pvp server. That is it. I see a lot of pros with no real cons to my personal enjoyment on the server.

I just feel like its such a simple thing to do that would make a lot of people happy and bring back a few players and cant understand why it has not been added yet. It isn't coding or the complication of implementing that is holding this up. They just haven't decided to do it for whatever reason. Most likely if it doesn't happen we will never know why.

yup and i can assure you they have been keeping it a secret from Nilbog and the rest of the server. luckily my pal in Nihilum spilled the beans and I confirmed what was going on with a level 1 alt. at this point the end-game on red is full of boxing/hacking/exploiting and its not something I want to be a part of.
