New Installation question ?

Hi Guys,

Has the installation process been changed ?
I am helping a friend get started and I said you need to delete this file and love this one etc but it turns out you don't anymore ?
Is it just a question of DLing to patcher etc and it does all the 'patchme stuff' etc for you ?
